Having Fun with our Secret Paw Gifts

Last week, we opened a Christmas package from Summer and her family at Sparklecat featuring Summer. After Pierre finally stopped eating the bows, we were able to get down to the real business… enjoying the gifts inside those beautiful packages.

Newton: It’s an oversized bug. I must kill it!

Pierre: You look kind of busy, Newton. While you’re doing that, I’m going to take this gift. Or maybe just the bow.

Newton: You can have the bow. Look what’s inside! It’s catnip. Give me give me give me catnip!

Newton: If I lick this enough, I may be able to eat the catnip and turn into Super Catnip Cat.

Pierre: Whatcha doing, Newt?

Newton: I’m playing with my awesome catnip fish. What are YOU doing?

Pierre: Oh, nothing. Just streeeeeetching.

Newton: I’ve seen how this ends before. I don’t like the look of this.

Newton: Hey, where are you going with that?

Pierre: Oh, look, the catnip fish just jumped right into my paws.

Newton: Can you believe he just did that!?

Newton: It’s all right, he can have it, because Summer also sent a catnip donut. I like that this has a bell because I will hear when Pierre steals it.

Newton: Give me give me give me catnip!

Ashton: I thought you said there was a donut. I love species-inappropriate food, but I can’t eat this!

Ashton: Lucky for me, Summer also sent us some freeze-dried chicken. Can I have another piece? Pleeeease?

Pierre: While Ashton is distracted by chicken, look what I found! It’s the best toys in the whole package.

Pierre: I’m going to play with bows, and I’m not going to share with anycat!

Pierre: I’m out of here!

There were also some pawesome cat socks in the package for the head peep, and she wore them immediately. She was so busy chasing Pierre and his bows that she didn’t get photos of them, but they’re purrrfect for her.

Big thank you to Summer and her family for the wonderful gifts. We’ll be enjoying these for a long time!

Safety Note

Ribbon can be dangerous for your cat if ingested, and bows are really just ribbon in disguise. So avoid potential big vet bills don’t let your cat chew on bows unattended. When we finished taking these photos, these bows were placed in a plastic food container to keep them safe… and to keep Pierre safe from them, too.

Christmas Arrived Early from our Secret Paw

Newton: Look what just arrived! It’s a gift from our secret paw! For you humans who don’t know, a secret paw gift exchange is like a secret Santa gift exchange, except this exchange is done among cats who have web sites.

I really like the message on the outside of the box. What do you think, should we open it now, or should we wait until the holiday?

Newton: That’s what we said, too. Open it!

Pierre: What’s in here? It smells really interesting. I think I smell bows!

Newton: You have to open the card first and see who it’s from before you can get to the gifts. Don’t you remember how this works?

Pierre: I remember. But bows…

Newton: Do you want me to read it?

Pierre: I don’t want you to embarrass yourself like that. Okay, here we go… check this out. It’s Binga from Sparkecat featuring Summer!

Pierre: I like that tie, but don’t tell any humans or I’ll end up having to wear one.

Newton: That’s not how you read a card.

Ashton: Can we get on with this?

Newton: You mean like this? I”m going to pick out the one to open first.

Newton: What are you DOING? And how does your mouth open that wide?

Pierre: It’s a bow!

Pierre: Mmmmm, my favorite flavor.

Newton: I’m getting out of here before we both get in trouble for eating the bows.

PIerre: It’s ANOTHER bow!

Pierre: A little privacy for me and my new girlfriend here?

We’ll be back Monday to see what’s in those packages, if Pierre is done eating the bows.

Rooster Rustler Busted

Ashton: You are SO busted, Pierre. What are you doing to my rooster? That was for my chicken emporium!

Pierre: You don’t understand, I’m totally innocent, Ashton.

Pierre: There was an earthquake. Newton saw it, so he will be able to be a witness. It was so hard it made me fall down, and it knocked the barn right off its foundation! And it killed the rooster, too.

(dramatic reenactment)

Pierre: Really, that’s what happened to your rooster.

Ashton: Hmm…

Ashton: What do you think, should I believe his story?

Pierre and the Rooster

Pierre: I made Newton leave the rooster in the barn. He’s all mine now!

Newton: What are you doing to that chicken?

Pierre: It’s a rooster. And could you just look the other way for a few minutes?

Newton: Are you KISSING that chicken?

Pierre: It’s a rooster, and no. Besides, I told you to look the other way.

Newton: Do you think the chicken tastes funny?

Pierre: * SIGH * You really know how to take the fun out of things, Newton. No, I think the rooster tastes just fine.

Newton: You look like you’re getting a little carried away.

Pierre: If you don’t shut up, I’ll carry you away.

Ashton: Do I hear eating noises? There had better not be someone eating and not sharing with me!

Newton: Hey, Pierre…

Pierre: Hold your stripes, Newton. Let me finish here.

Ashton: What are you DOING?

Newton: I tried to warn you!
