Newton: Look what just arrived! It’s a gift from our secret paw! For you humans who don’t know, a secret paw gift exchange is like a secret Santa gift exchange, except this exchange is done among cats who have web sites.
I really like the message on the outside of the box. What do you think, should we open it now, or should we wait until the holiday?
Newton: That’s what we said, too. Open it!
Pierre: What’s in here? It smells really interesting. I think I smell bows!
Newton: You have to open the card first and see who it’s from before you can get to the gifts. Don’t you remember how this works?
Pierre: I remember. But bows…
Newton: Do you want me to read it?
Pierre: I don’t want you to embarrass yourself like that. Okay, here we go… check this out. It’s Binga from Sparkecat featuring Summer!
Pierre: I like that tie, but don’t tell any humans or I’ll end up having to wear one.
Newton: That’s not how you read a card.
Ashton: Can we get on with this?
Newton: You mean like this? I”m going to pick out the one to open first.
Newton: What are you DOING? And how does your mouth open that wide?
Pierre: It’s a bow!
Pierre: Mmmmm, my favorite flavor.
Newton: I’m getting out of here before we both get in trouble for eating the bows.
PIerre: It’s ANOTHER bow!
Pierre: A little privacy for me and my new girlfriend here?
We’ll be back Monday to see what’s in those packages, if Pierre is done eating the bows.
Safety Note
Ribbon can be dangerous for your cat if ingested, and bows are really just ribbon in disguise. So avoid potential big vet bills don’t let your cat chew on bows unattended. When we finished taking these photos, these bows were placed in a plastic food container to keep them safe… and to keep Pierre safe from them, too.
MOL! We never chew on bows around here… because we never get to! You kitties are lucky you got some supervised chewing. And I’m glad you took the advice on the box.

Recently a ‘furiend’ sent a package addressed to my dad…instructing DAD not to let his women touch that package until Christmas.

It looks like whatever is inside the packages will have a hard time competing with the bows on the outside! Love these photos!
Bear is relentless with bows. I’ve become an expert at protecting the bow basket while I wrap … but now he’s decided that, when denied access to the unused bows, he’ll just rip them off the finished presents. So all my bows come with a complimentary fang mark (or two) in them. He knows where I keep the bows too … I open that door … and he’s there! Which is ironic because the vacuum is in the closet too, but yet the prospect of bows is too great to resist. I actually gave him one to play with all the time (one of the premade THICK in width ones so he can’t chew through the individual ribbons). I took the paper part off and removed the staple, then taped it really well together. Of course, he refuses to play with it, because what’s the fun of a bow if it’s given to you?
What a teaser! We can’t wait to see what you guys got! Pierre, you’re too funny with those bows.

Mmmm, bow could be our favorite flavor, too, if we ever got to have any! Our Mom is so cautious about ribbon, she doesn’t buy any or use any so none is ever left lying around. But somehow, we have a whole box of it! And we know where it is!
