Barnyard Follies

Newton: Hey, check it out, I have a chicken.

Pierre: I think that’s a rooster.

Newton: Ashton must have left it here to make eggs for her chicken emporium.

Pierre: That isn’t how roosters work, Newton. Didn’t anyone ever explain the birds and the bees to you?

Newton: What do bees have to do with anything? This is about a chicken.

Newton: It doesn’t TASTE like chicken. Ashton needs to be more picky about her stock.

Pierre: You need to come out from inside there and let me have a turn.

Newton: Why? This chicken and I are just getting started making friends.

Pierre: Because my right paw said so.

Newton: Hey, watch where you’re putting that thing! You could poke out the chicken’s eye. Think of the chicken.

Pierre: It’s a rooster. And I am thinking of it.

Pierre: That’s why you need to let me in!

Newton: HEY! Ouch!

Newton: See what you did? You broke the barn. Knocked it off its foundation. And the chicken was so scared, he fainted.

Pierre: It’s a rooster.

Newton: Don’t be such a bully, Pierre. if you want the barn so much you’re going to break it, I’ll let you have it.

Newton: We’ll see what Ashton thinks when she finds out Pierre made her chicken faint.

Decorating Assistant

Pierre: It’s time for the humans to install the big tree in the sunroom again, and I’m helping. This is where they store the cat toys they hang on the tree.

Pierre: Don’t pretend like you’re done! I still see plenty of cat toys in the box. Put more on the tree!

Pierre: This is pretty comfy under here. Can you believe I have to wait nearly all year for this napping spot?

Pierre’s Secret for Charming Humans

Pierre: Today I am going to tell you kitties one of my secrets for charming humans. There’s something you can do that is so cute they just can’t stand it. Are you ready for it?

Here it is:

Fold your front paw over your rear paw and hold it.

Did your human squee just now?

There’s something about paws. They just can’t resist them.

So go try the paw-hold on your human, and let me know how it goes.

Thanksgiving Preparations

Newton: * SNIFF *   * SNIFF *

Newton: I don’t think so, little guy. You haven’t done a very good job growing up since last year.

Pierre: What are you doing, Newt? You’re supposed to be getting ready to be thankful.

Newton: I was ready to be thankful for turkey for dinner, but look at this rude bird! He is way too small to feed us.  He should at least look at me when I talk to him.

Newton: It’s bad enough that we have had him in the house for a whole year and he hasn’t grown at all. What good is he going to do us for Thanksgiving dinner at this size?

Pierre: That’s not the kind of being thankful you’re supposed to be doing.

Newton: * WHISPERS *   I’m onto you, little turkey. When the humans go out to eat with friends tomorrow, we’re going to have a little “talk” about thankfulness.

Pierre: While Newton figures out the real meaning of Thanksgiving, we want you to know that we are thankful for you, our readers. Your friendship brings us smiles and joy all year round. Happy Thanksgiving!
