Disputed Territory

Newton: That’s a nice spot under the cat tree, Pierre. Why don’t you get out of the way and let me sit there?

Pierre: You can sit here when I’m done with it. I’ll come wake you up.

Newton: I’m awake now. I think you should move, Pierre.

Newton: I’ll give you until the count of three. One… two….

Newton: Gotcha!

Pierre: HEY! What happened to three?

Newton: I’ll show you some three!

Pierre: No fair hiding behind the cat tree!

Newton: You mean you want me to come around HERE?

Pierre: Uh-oh…

Top Bunk

Newton: I have the top bunk!

Pierre: Whatever. The bottom bunk is better anyhow.

Pierre: When we’re having a cold snap, my body heat makes this a toasty-warm spot between the chair and the bottom of the desk. Besides, I can kick you out of the top bunk whenever I want. I’m oldest.

Newton: Age sure doesn’t make you less cranky, Pierre. Did you say the bottom bunk is warmer? Hmm… maybe I need to stage a bottom bunk takeover sometime soon.

Endangered Toy Alert

Pierre: Every once in a while the head peep says something crazy like “no one plays with that toy, maybe I should donate it.” Don’t humans understand that you just aren’t playing with that toy this week… or even this year?

Pierre: Kitties, when that happens, there’s only one thing to do: play with that toy like it’s brand-new and loaded with catnip.

Pierre:  If you can add a little drama to your playing, that’s good, too. This is the time for you to make those kind of embarrassing sounds you sometimes make when you play really hard. Humans can’t resist those.

Pierre: Don’t forget the really cute moves, too. My humans totally fall for anything with the upside-down head, so that’s a great distraction.

Pierre: Soon, your human will have the camera out and be taking photos instead of talking about getting rid of your favorite toy. You win!

Pierre: Managing humans is a lot of work! Once your toy is save, take a well-deserved break.

Pierre and the Long Weekend

Pierre: I heard the head peep saying this is a long weekend, the last one for a while. What makes it long? Do we all need to be extra-long for the whole weekend?

Pierre: So this is how I celebrate a long weekend. You can do it, too. It’s okay if your human doesn’t want to play along, but once your human sees you participating in the long weekend, I think even a human will have to join the fun.

Are you ready? Let’s go! 1… 2… 3…. looooooooooong kitty.

Pierre: How about you? Was it a long weekend at your house? Did you stretch extra-long for your naps during the long weekend? If not, what did you do to celebrate it?
