Mancat Monday with Cousins Earl and Shep

Cousins Earl and Shep got a new Da Bird, and they’re putting it through its paces.

Cousin Shep shows his mastery of Da Bird, and he doesn’t want to let it go.

Not to be outdone, Cousin Earl goes after those tempting feathers, too.

Then Cousin Earl moves in for the kill!

We’re sorry if the head peep doesn’t make it around to visit many blogs today. She has a bug — and not the kind you can chase across the floor, either! We will put Nurse Newton on the case, and we will send her back to visit your blogs as soon as she’s better.

Letting It All Hang Out

Newton: It’s an easy Sunday. What better day to let it all hang out?

Hang out of the cat bed, that is. I’m too much of a mancat to fit into this little thing.

Checking Up on Ashton

Ashton hasn’t exactly been a good sport about taking her antibiotics, and late this week, she went back for a recheck on her skin infection.

Ashton: Do we really have to go in the car again?

I’m just going to pretend that I’m not here and hope it’s a bad dream.

Well, that didn’t work. Why are you looking at me? No looking!

*sigh* Can we just get this over with?

WAIT! When I said just get this over with, I didn’t mean THIS! I feel violated!

The vet says that Ashton’s infection looks better, which is great news.

He also says that she needs about another week of antibiotics, which isn’t great news for anybody.

We got a close-up photo of her infected skin (we’ll spare you that one!) and will compare it with how she looks in a week, and we will use that to decide whether the stress of another vet visit is warranted or not. Thanks for all of your good wishes for her recovery!

Flashback Friday: The Found Kitten Photos

While cleaning out one of the closets, the head peep found one of her old cameras with a memory card inside. The memory card had a bunch of photos from Newton’s kittenhood that weren’t stored anywhere else.

Some of the photos were of the sick little orange kitten.

And some were of little Newton ninja-snuggling Pierre. We can’t imagine Pierre allowing this to happen now!

Newton: Do you mind? I’m trying to sleep.

And then there was this outtake that was simply too funny not to share.

Newton: I’m not laughing at you. I’m laughing with you. Well, actually, I *am* laughing at you. But you can’t help it if you’re hairless like that, can you?
