Happy Independence Day!

Cupcake: What’s this on my bed? Mr. Newton! Do you know anything about this?

Cupcake: There you are. Do you know how this stuff got on my bed? 

Newton: I put it there.

Cupcake: Why did you put stuff on my bed?

Newton: It’s decorated for Independence Day. You remember that from last year. When the humans cook hot dogs and there are loud booms?

Cupcake: I like hot dogs. 

Newton: Let me straighten the decorations, and then we’ll go find the hot dogs.

Pierre, Mighty Hunter

Pierre: I may have just turned thirteen years old, but my reflexes are as sharp as ever. Especially when it comes to toys that move fast!

Pierre: I’m going to get you, little hedgehog. Flying in the air won’t save you!

Pierre: This is my serious face. When I wear this, you know I mean business. Here I come, hedgie.

Pierre: Gotcha! Don’t forget who is the cat in charge around here.

Double Vet Visit

Cupcake: You’ll never believe what happened when I went with Pierre to the vet for his senior wellness exam!

Cupcake: It turned out the red dot has a larger cousin, and he lives at the vet’s office.

Cupcake: There was a pointy thing that glowed brightly that the vet said was for examining me. I thought we were here for Pierre to be examined, not me.

Cupcake: Oh, hey, watch it, lady. There’s nothing in there you need to see!

Cupcake: * Nnnnnngh*

Cupcake: Mr. Pierre, I found you! 

Pierre: I’ve been here the whole time. Where could I go?

Cupcake: I’ve had enough examining. It’s your turn.

One Year with Cupcake

It was one year ago that Cupcake arrived. Miss Jeanne from Random Felines brought her all the way from Ohio.

She was so tiny that she fit inside Pierre’s cat feeder.

She may have been small, but she was full of trouble. Watch out, Newton!

No one was safe when Cupcake wanted something, whether it was a toy or a box. Sorry, Pierre.

Cupcake wasn’t just stealing toys from her housemates. She also started stealing hearts around town on her weekly outings.

She celebrated her first Halloween dressed as her favorite friends around town, the baristas who give her whipped cream.

And she discovered how much fun it is to shop at the pet store. Can you believe these birds don’t even seem to know she’s here?

Cupcake loved her first holiday season with the family. Especially the whole thing where there was a tree in the house.

And she grew into a big, strong cat.

Before we knew it, it was time for her to pack a bag to go to the BlogPaws conference, were she picked out her human the year before.

Which meant it’s now a year since she arrived. To celebrate, Cupcake is just chilling out to celebrate this gotcha day.
