Where Are You Going This Time?

Pierre: It seems like you just got back from the last time you traveled. This isn’t acceptable. You can’t put things in here if I don’t let you open it…. Wait, what do you mean she faked me out and took the other suitcase?

The head peep is away at BarkWorld Expo, a conference about pets and social media. The manpeep and Aunt O spoil us, and we’ll get lots of treats while she’s away. Still, it isn’t the same as having her here, so she had better bring back some good stories and some swag to bribe her way back into our good graces. If you are at the conference and see this, let her know you should be looking for you there!

That’s a Funky Chicken

Newton: You know, what if Pierre was onto something, sneaking into Ashton’s Chicken Emporium in disguise.

Uh-oh, this isn’t going the way I planned.

How did Pierre wear this thing? It’s really uncomfortable.

Pierre: That’s kind of a good look for you. Kind of a funky chicken thing.

Newton: Oh, stop it. I don’t want to hear it.

Ashton: Did they really think I was going to fall for that? Silly boys.

Trick or Treat

Newton: Hey Pierre, what are you doing in there? Are you ready for me to come trick-or-treating?

Pierre: What about treating? Are you bringing treats? That was really thoughtful of you, Newt!

Newton: No, no! You live in a haunted house and you don’t know what trick or treating is? It’s when I come to your door and say, “Trick or treat!” and you give me your treats.

Pierre: That sounds like a total scam to me. Why would I give you my treats?

Newton: Never mind. You’re no fun. I’ll go see if Ashton is ready to hide under the bed if the human trick-or-treaters come to the door instead.

Celebrating National Cat Day

It’s time for a very important holiday. No, we aren’t talking about the day when dozens of terrifying strangers ring the door bell and demand that your humans give them treats. Today is a much more important holiday: National Cat Day.

Many people say that every day is cat day, especially on the internet. It sure is national cat day every day at our house.

But it isn’t that way for every cat everywhere. National Cat Day was was founded in 2005 to celebrate the cats in our lives for the unconditional love and companionship they bestow upon us.

National Cat Day is also to recognize the number of cats that need to be rescued each year. 3.4 million cats enter shelters every year, and 1.4 million never make it back out again. That’s a lot of cats who need loving homes! Maybe you’re ready to open your heart and home to a cat to a cat who needs rescuing. If you are, please remember your local shelter or rescue organization has cats who need homes, especially “less-adoptable” cats, who may look less-than-perfect at first glance but will make loving family members.

If you already have cats in your family and aren’t ready to adopt more, National Cat Day is the perfect day to share them on social media to tell your friends how pawesome your cats are. Maybe you’ll inspire one of your friends to adopt a cat in need… or at least to give their cat an extra cuddle tonight. In the end, that’s what National Cat Day is really about: loving cats.
