It Came from Outer Space
Pierre: There’s something in our sunroom.
Newton: What is it?
Pierre: *sniff* It’s not from around here.
Newton: Do you think it came from outer space? I thought things from outer space were round. Like the moon.
Pierre: It’s not the moon, Newton.
Newton: How would you know? I’m not getting too close, just in case.
Pierre: Because the moon is made of cheese. I smelled it, and it’s not cheese.
Newton: That’s a shame. I could use a snack.
Newton: Well, if it’s not the moon, maybe I’ll… Hey, there’s something moving under there. I bet it’s an alien!
Pierre: There aren’t any aliens in our sunroom.
Pierre: Stand back, I’ll take a look.
Pierre: No, there are no aliens under here.
Pierre: Maybe I can get it to stop making a racket under there if I destroy its saucer.
Newton: HEY! You said it wasn’t made of cheese. No fair snacking without sharing!
Newton: Let me in there. I’ll get the cheese! Ugh, this is the worst cheese ever.
Pierre: *sigh* Do you see what I live with?
The Day After the Booms
Newton: You wouldn’t believe how much my peace was disturbed last night, kitties.
It looked like this right outside my windows. We’re used to fireworks at a distance, but that’s a bit much. Those fireworks were peeping in our windows! How rude! How would those fireworks like it if we all stared at them?
I have been told that there will not be any fireworks peeping on our windows again until Labor Day weekend. I don’t know when that is, because cats don’t labor. But it had better not be any time soon.
Happy Indepdence Day!
Newton: Hello, everyone! It’s time to celebrate something called Independence Day!
We are celebrating with this garland because I was told that it symbolized the holiday. I would have thought that some extra hot dogs would have worked, too, but we have garland so we’ll work with that.
I think you’re supposed to show your appreciation for the holiday by wearing the colors of the holiday and singing.
O beautiful for Neko Flies
for unattended chow mein,
For tall cat tree mjesties
As many treats as I can contain…
This wearing thing is more difficult than it looks! You might not want to try this at home unless you are also a qualified spokescat.
Pierre: What are you DOING?
Newton: I’m celebrating Independence Day. Do you want to sing with me? You have a good voice.
….And crown thy kitties on farms and in cities
At least we don’t have fleas!
Pierre: *sigh* Don’t let your friends get into too much nip today, kitties. You don’t want to end up like this.
Happy Independence Day to all of our readers celebrating today!
