Outtake Friday

We haven’t shared outtakes with you in a long time, so it’s time!

Pierre: You aren’t going to lick that thing, are you, Newt? I can’t watch!

When the humans pull out the photo backdrop, it’s time to get serious. Unless you’re Cupcake, in which it’s time to attack the edge of the backdrop over and over again.

Newton is practicing for his big audition for the next vampire movie. Do you think he is ready?

Cupcake got mail! She is supposed to look excited about that, but apparently she has other ideas.

When Cupcake is tired of being on an outing, she will let you know. This is her “time to go home” face.

Cupcake Conflict

Cupcake: It started before I even had a chance to use my new bed.

Cupcake: Mr. Pierre, what are you doing?

Pierre: Is there a problem, kid?

Cupcake: Even when I got the bed put where I had a view, it kept happening. First I’m sleeping peacefully…

Cupcake: The next thing I know, I can feel someone watching me.

Newton: Hey, kid. Is there room up there for me, too?

Cupcake: What does a cat have to do get some peace and quiet in her cupcake bed, anyhow?

If you follow us on social media, you know that last Wednesday was Cupcake’s first birthday. She had a great day, including a surprise gift from her foster mom, Miss Jeanne from Random Felines. She received a new sock monkey.

You may recall that Cupcake came with a monkey toy when she arrived here, and she loves carrying it around the house. Everyone was glad to see this new monkey toy, because Cupcake had hidden Monkey the day it arrived, and the humans could not find him anywhere. Perfect timing!

Many people who heard it was Cupcake’s birthday immediately asked whether she was getting a cupcake for her birthday. So by popular demand, she did!

Human cupcakes aren’t species-appropriate food for cats and should be eaten in moderation.

Some of the stuff that we put in cupcakes probably isn’t even species-appropriate food for humans. If you look closely at the photo above, Cupcake’s tongue is blue from the icing!

It may have been Cupcake’s birthday, but not everyone else thought cupcake should get that birthday cupcake to herself.

Newton: Are you gonna finish that, kid?

She ate her cupcake lopsided! She didn’t really like the sprinkles. What you can’t see in this photo is that she dropped most of them on the side of the cupcake closest to her body, which is hidden from the camera.

Cupcake: What do you think. Should I share this with Newton?

Of course, Cupcake did share her cupcake, or at least a little of the icing, with everyone.

And a good time was had by all cats at Cupcake’s birthday party.

Cupcake Gets a Cupcake

After seeing the Pidan egg tart bed in person, it was obvious that this was no egg tart. It was a cupcake wrapper. And Cupcake had to have one!

So I did what any self-respecting person who is completely owned by a cat named Cupcake would do. I bought it and brought it home to her.

The cushion is incredibly soft, and Cupcake seems to know that it’s her bed. While the bed is actually big enough to share if she wanted to, Cupcake keeps it all to herself.

I put it where she can look out and watch the neighbors and birds go by from the comfort of her bed. It’s a cupcake with a view!

Everybody who saw photos of Cupcake in the bed on Facebook wanted to know where I got it. Since you can’t get a floor model like I did, your next best bet is probably from Amazon.
