Easy like Sunday

Newton: Yesterday was an exhausting day of snoopervising the wrapping of holiday gifts and the packing of a Secret Paws box.

Newton Prepares to Snoopervise

It’s important to inspect everything that is going to touch the gifts very carefully. If you can’t inspect it all visually, a sniff test will let you know if you need to explore further and possibly increase your diligence with a taste test.

Can you believe that I was finally asked to supervise from way over here? This is really an unacceptable distance for the sniff and taste testing.

Anyhow, after all of that hard work, I plan to take it easy today before the hard work of lounging around and waving my paw at the peeps while they go to the office begins again.

Hanging Out with Ashton

It’s Caturday, and we’re hanging out under the tree.

Ashton: I like it under here because it’s dark, and because the head peep can’t reach me.

Ashton under the Christmas Tree

Why don’t I want her to reach me? Well… earlier this week, there was an incident with my new collar. The head peep got home, and I was pretty freaked out. It was obvious I had part of my collar stuck in my mouth at some point, and it was soaked with kitty spit.

The peeps say there’s a design flaw, and that this collar is missing a loop that would keep it from getting like this.

I say that it was missing a key feature: Me not wearing it. It’s a much nicer collar now that I’m not in it. That’s right. I’m nude, I and I plan to stay that way. (Don’t worry, Mr. Jinx, I’m being modest about it.)

Peeps are stubborn, though. The head peep went out and bought me another collar. She says it’s made out of soy. Isn’t soy something you eat? I already tried eating my collar, and that didn’t turn out so well.

I told Newton that he could have the collar, but he said that he doesn’t wear girly colors. He’s no help at all! So I’m staying under the tree where the peeps can’t reach me. (Well, except for mealtimes.) They aren’t putting that collar on me!

Flashback Friday: Sneaky Snuggle

Back in January of 2009, when Newton was a little kit, all he wanted to do was snuggle with the big kitties. The big kitties weren’t into that with that they viewed as a little, orange brat.

That didn’t stop him…

He just waited until they were asleep, then he sneaky snuggled them.

Holiday Decorating

Decorating for the holidays is serious business, and nobody is all over serious business quite like Pierre.

Pierre: These boxes are dirty. Why didn’t you wash them off before you brought them out of the attic? Good help is hard to find…. Let’s see where you hid the good kitty ornaments last year…

Seriously, you aren’t going to put these outer space ornaments on the tree. Only cat ornaments. We have this conversation every year.

With Pierre’s help, we put the cat photo ornaments up on one side of the tree. Like every year, for just a little while, everybody is together again, at least in spirit.

Pierre: While you’re being all sentimental, I’m going to add a finishing touch. My favorite toy, the Christmas mouse, that your friend gave me five years ago. I have brought it out from under the sofa for the occasion.

Christmas Mouse for Christmas Decorating

We think Pierre did a very nice job with the tree. (Please be sure to notice his Christmas Mouse contribution is included in the picture below.)
