When Newton was a little kitten, his favorite toy in the world was Pierre, and Pierre thought Newton was a lot of fun, too.
It didn’t matter that Newton was one-third of Pierre’s size. He gave as good as he got.
Even as a kitten, Newton had some serious moves!
Newton may have been the best cat toy ever for Pierre, at least until he grew up to be bigger than Pierre is.
The head peep thought she was going to be able to get a new photo of us to use in our blog’s banner, but we wouldn’t all turn around at the same time for a snapshot. Behold, the back of Pierre’s head.
This is just one of the many ways we illustrate the saying “it’s like herding cats.”

The Cat Blogosphere calendars are starting to arrive for the first batch of orders. Pierre is pretty obviously excited to be one of the cats featured on the page-a-day calendar that also features so many of our friends.
Finding a printer who would print these was really hard, so big props to Mom Paula from Sweet Purrfections for organizing this for us and getting them out. We love the calendar!

It’s Meow Like a Pirate Day, and we’re celebrating!
For our celebration today, we’re looking back at the summer of 2011 when we had an actual pirate ship. Dread Pirate Pierre was napping at the wheel, but he didn’t need to worry about preparing to be boarded, because First Mate Newton was keeping a watchful… oh…
It looks like First Mate Newton is sleeping off some especially good pirate grog. We’ll just hope we have fair winds until our pirate crew is ready to sail away on our next adventure!
