Cupcake: Hi there! I love visitors!

Cupcake: Meeting new people is one of my favorite things. My name is Cupcake. What’s your name?

Cupcake: You look like you missed breakfast. Sorry, I didn’t save any for you.

Cupcake: You’re kind of scaring me, stranger. Why won’t you talk?

Cupcake: Hi, Mr. Pierre. Have you seen this stranger?

Pierre: Of course. That’s Mr. Bones. Is he back?

Cupcake: I guess he has a back. It’s probably still outside.

Pierre: Not his back. I mean returned. He visited this time last year, too.

Cupcake: So I shouldn’t be scared of Mr. Bones?

Ashton: Do I look scared?

Cupcake: Not really. And you’re scared of everything, Miss Ashton!

Ashton: Not when there’s a chance to go out on the porch, I’m not. Move your foot, Mr. Bones.

Cupcake’s Reluctant Friend

We had some big adventures this weekend. Cupcake’s coffee shop visit was pretty eventful.

First of all, we discovered that getting a smaller serving of whipped cream in Cupcake’s puppaccino means she ends up much messier than normal. Yes, that’s whipped cream around her eye.

With a smaller  serving, she has to push her face further into the cup, and that can get messy in a hurry!

We carry cat-safe wipes in her go bag, so we were able to make sure she was cleaned up before the sticky stuff could start to dry in her fur.

The real excitement started when a brave squirrel wandered into the seating area at the coffee shop. Cupcake wanted a closer look, so we went out to the patio to see.

The squirrel tried hanging out on the far side of the planter, but Cupcake was onto that trick.

There was a moment when she lost track of the squirrel when he went vertical and leaped up into her favorite planter.

Cupcake wasn’t giving up. She leaped up onto the planter, too, and climbed the little palm tree growing there in pursuit.

She was only inches from the squirrel, but on the wrong side of the tree.

That squirrel has lived the good life there near the coffee shop for a long time, and knew how to stay safe. When she couldn’t see him, he ran back down the tree and took off. Cupcake leaped down, too, but she had lost track of her little friend.

Cupcake: Where did he go?  I just wanted to be his friend!

As long as she was up on the edge of the planter, it seemed like a good time to hang out there and take a bath. Cupcake decided it was time to make sure the last traces of that whipped cream were gone from the fur around her eye and her whiskers.

It’s in the Bag, Part 3

Pierre: This paper bag is perfectly Pierre-sized.

Cupcake: * tiptoes *

Pierre: Are you trying to sneak up on me?

Cupcake: Umm… no, Mr. Pierre. I’m just sniffing this bag. It smells nice.

Pierre: Good. Because this bag is limited to one cat occupancy.

Cucpake: You have one of those things with the eight legs in there?

Pierre: Occupancy. Not octopus. How did you hear about octopus, anyhow?

Cupcake: Because I’d like to see an occupancy. Shouldn’t you put it in the water?

Pierre: HEY, getting a little close. One cat at a time in here. and that cat is ME.

Pierre: * hiss *

Cupcake: Mr. Pierre, I don’t think I’m supposed to know words like that at my age.

Cupcake: Okay. I can take a hint. I’ll go find Mr. Newton.

Pierre: Finally, I get the bag to myself. It’s a lot of work making sure no one steals my favorite spot.

It’s in the Bag, Part 2

Pierre: That’s a nice bag you have, Newton.

Newton: Oh, hi. I didn’t see you back there. Thanks. Miss Celena sent it to me.

Pierre: She sent it to you? Didn’t she send it to all of us?

Newton: I can look in here and see if she left a note that says that. No, no note. It was for me.

Pierre: Are you sure? I think you should give me a turn in the bag.

Newton: I’m pretty comfy in here, thanks.

Pierre: You don’t take hints very well, Newton. Let me IN!

Newton: Geez. Do you have to mess up my ‘do? Now I’m going to have to go fix my fur.

Pierre: How much time does he need to fix his fur, anyhow? Just as well…

Pierre: He was right, this is pretty comfy.
