Friday Catinee: You’re Home!

Cupcake spends most of the time that the humans aren’t home just like this.

But when it’s time for them to arrive home, there’s something else she likes to do. We’re sharing it with you today in our Friday Catinee.

(If you can’t see the video above, you can view it directly instead.)

The humans like to think she does this just for them, but she might flirt with the mailman, too. Neither of them are telling.

Bag Encounter

Cupcake: What are you looking at, Mr. Pierre?

Pierre: The inside of this bag.

Cupcake: Are you eating? That sounds like eating.

Cupcake: Mr. Pierre?

Pierre: I heard you. I was eating catnip. Haven’t you ever heard you shouldn’t talk with your mouth full? Kittens shouldn’t talk with it empty, either.

Cupcake: If I shouldn’t talk with my mouth full and I shouldn’t talk with it empty… HEY!

Pierre: What?

Cupcake: That wasn’t polite. If we aren’t being polite, I’m going to take a look at your tail.

Cupcake: Your tail is kind of irresistible when you twitch it like that, too.

Pierre: You know rule number one is don’t touch the tail.

Cupcake: I thought rule number one was grownup cats eat first. Hey, where are you going?

Thank you to our friend, Miss Sue, for the orange bag. We are having tons of fun with it!

What Big Teeth You Have!

Cupcake makes friends wherever she goes, but this one was a little different. He was more the strong, silent type.

Do you think she may be taking this raw food diet a little too seriously?

She was fascinated by the shark and wanted to see it from several angles. You can see that her uncertain tail in the first photos already started to perk up with confidence as she discovered her silent friend wasn’t chasing her.

Cupcake: I’m not afraid to go in the water!

Big thanks to Bass Pro Shop, who welcomes well-behaved pets, including cats. The employees at our local store made Cupcake very welcome, and she enjoyed visiting with lots of shoppers who were visiting from as far away as the UK.

That’s Not a Chicken

Ashton: This is NOT funny. I know chicken when I see it, and this isn’t it.

Pierre: Send it over here, Ashton. It may not be real chicken, but it’s real catnip, and that’s good enough for me.

Newton: I can smell that catnip all the way over here. Do you want to share that?

Pierre: * sigh * Not really. But I have a feeling you aren’t going to give me much choice.

Newton: This is catnip, kid. The good stuff.

Cupcake: * sniff * What’s so good about this, Mr. Newton? I can’t eat it. Besides, it’s covered in drool already.

Cupcake: I’m going to go find one of my springs.

Newton: You try to teach a kid about the finer things in life, and this is what happens…
