Pierre: I’ve got the Monday Blues.
All weekend, I helped the peeps, and now they go back to work and leaving me with no one to help.
Do you suppose I could try and be helpful anyhow? I could help unwind the toilet paper roll. Or open the kitchen blinds. Or maybe clean off the papers from the desk. I’m feeling less sad already as I think about all of the helpful possibilities!
Pierre: The peeps cleaned out the front bedroom closet yesterday, where cats are strictly not allowed, and I helped!
Well, maybe I hid in the back of the closet in the dark, hoping somebody would notice.
They noticed. I had to leave. But I sneaked back in.
It looks like someone else with a fluffy tail sneaked in, too!
I checked to see if the coast was clear…
… and I got kicked out of the closet again. How am I supposed to assist from outside? Don’t listen to the rumors that I used HBO words when I had to leave the closet. Cats can’t pronounce enough consonants to say HBO words.
Then I discovered that one of the things that had been removed from the closet was an old comforter. Suddenly, going back into the closet seemed like too much trouble.
That wore me out. I’m going to take it easy for Sunday right here.
Some nights, the head peep declares it is date night with Ashton. Those are nights when, instead of sitting at the computer, she stretches out with a good book and hopes Ashton will cuddle with her. Since we voted Ashton “least likely to cuddle,” it’s a special time when Ashton participates in date night.

Since Saturday night is a traditional date night for teenagers and not-so-teenagers to have their date nights, we think that the whole blogosphere should declare it date night on Caturday night. What do you think? Will you spend at least a few extra minutes cuddling your peeps tonight in honor of date night?
Back in 2011, Newton had a girlfriend in the neighborhood who used to come visit with him.
Newton had to visit with her from the porch, since he isn’t allowed outside.
They would sit on opposite sides of the screened door and stare at each other. No hostility, just hanging out.
Her family must have moved away, because she stopped coming around, and Newton has been a single mancat ever since.
