Sneak Attack Interrupted

Pierre: It’s time to strip the comforter off the bed to do laundry, but I’m not moving. This makes a nice hiding place!

Pierre: Do you hear something? It sounded like paws on the bed!

Pierre: I see you!

Newton: Oh… umm… Hi, Pierre! I didn’t notice you there.

Pierre: Sure you didn’t. You weren’t trying to sneak up on me.

Newton: I wouldn’t do that!

Pierre: Or pounce on me when I wasn’t looking.

Newton: I would NEVER do that. You must be thinking of some other orange cat.

Happy St. Catrick’s Day!

Ashton: So who was this St. Catrick who everyone keeps talking about, and what does he have to do with putting a bear on my tail?

Newton: Maybe he banished all of the fleas from the land or something. But while you’re distracted with your new little friend…

10 Irish Cat Proverbs

The people of Ireland clearly love cats, because they have a wealth of sayings about their four-footed friends. Here are ten of our favorites:

If a cat had a dowry, she would often be kissed

When the cat is outside, the mouse can dance

As honest as a cat when the meat is out of reach

Who would believe such pleasure from a wee ball o’ fur?

A cat’s eyes are windows enabling us to see into another world

She wipes the plate with the cat's tail

The quiet cat also drinks milk

It’s for her own good that the cat purrs

The cat is always dignified, until the dog comes by

Beware of people that dislike cats

Fortress Interruptus

Ashton: What are you doing, Pierre?

Pierre: I’m hanging out in my fortress of catitude. What does it look like?

Ashton: It kind of looks like a cat carrier.

Pierre: That’s just your imagination because there’s a cat in it: me.

Ashton: This has a lot of zippers. I guess it could be luggage. Are you going on a trip?

Pierre: I’m not going anywhere. I’m contemplating life fine right where I am.

Ashton: Well, I’m not hanging around, just in case it’s a carrier. Or luggage. I don’t need to go where either of those things go.

Pierre: OK, but my fortress of catitude isn’t going anywhere.
