Thank You, Chewy!

Only the handful of you who follow the head peep on Twitter probably know this, but it was a rough week here last week. Our house got hit by lightning on Monday, and we spent the whole week finding things that didn’t survive the strike. By Friday, the head peep was really glad it was the end of the week. She came trudging up to the front door in the rain, because that’s what afternoon weather does in Florida this time of year, and she was surprised to see a box from Chewy.com waiting under the eaves.

We had just gotten a shipment from them the middle of the week, and she thought hard to remember whether anything had been left out of the previous shipment. Meanwhile, she was getting wetter and wetter in the rain while she thought. This is why we are the cats and she’s the human. Cats wouldn’t stand in the rain thinking.

Newton: Get in here already! What are you waiting for?

Newton in the window - a photo from last year. If the head peep doesn't have the sense to come in out of the rain, at least she didn't expose her phone to it to snap a photo of Newton.

She brought the box in and opened it to find a very nice note from Andrew and the team at Chewy thanking her for participating in the blogging program. What an unexpected surprise!

Pierre: While you’re reading that note, I’m just going to see what’s in here, okay? Read as slowly as you want so you don’t notice if I steal the good stuff.

Newton: Check out the packing material! This is awesome! If I run through the house with some of this, it’s going to decorate everything!

Ashton: Is this all for ME?

ty_chewy04_sm

Newton: No, Ash, we all get to share.

Ashton: But…

Newton: Hey, this is taking the sharing thing a little far! I don’t think those are going to fit me.

A big thank you to team Chewy for the surprise package. We can’t wait to dig into the treats and share them with our cousins, too. You had no idea what a bad week the head peep was having, but extra thanks for making her smile when she really needed it.

(But could you ask her to stop trying to make us wear the sunglasses, please?)

And Chewy out Sid themselves!! We still need to do our a wild Buffaloe review…Friday for sure! Paw hugs, Savvy

I understand. Last week I was sitting in the kitchen and a bolt of lightening stuck nearby but it felt like it was under my chair. Even Annabelle took note, and I’ve noticed she isn’t much bothered by thunder and lightening. It was scary. Sorry to hear that your home got struck. I hope you didn’t lose any electronic devices.

OH NO on the lightning strikes….we are thankful you are all ok. We’ve had two strikes once at our old house then at this one long before I was born. They are very scary.
Lightning is one of the reasons we’ve had all the tall pines removed…..lightning likes them.

OMC, what a week is right! Long before me, my mom’s house was hit by lightning. She thought to unplug electrical stuff before the storm came but forgot the phones (and modems), and all that stuff died except for one old AT&T phone. No one got treats after that, though!

WOWOHWOWOHWOW! That’s an amazing package from Chewy! We can see quite a few treats we think we’ll like (well, except for Tutu, that is) but you can most certainly keep the sunglasses. MOL!

Whoa! Hit by lightning? That sounds way scary. It didn’t catch fire, did it? I’m glad Chewy treated you well. Those are all treats I wouldn’t eat but at least they’re not dog treats.

OMC, that had to be so scary. Was the head peep at home when the house was struck? Our 100+ year old oak tree went down in a wind storm a few years back. The crash was deafening when the tree hit the power lines. Mom was in the kitchen and fire shot out of the microwave! Hope things are back to normal. That is the most pawsome goodie box. Enjoy! There was a house down the street from us that got hit by lightening when I was a kid, punched a hole right in the middle of the roof.. was the oddest thing since there were trees near by..

OMC – we are here in St. Pete, and had some big storms, but nothing like a lightening strike. I hope things are all back to normal for you and calm and quiet.
Chewy to the rescue! They are so awesome over there and there is never any question that they love pets and their people.
