A Thing With Bells

We love new things, and new things with bells are even better, so when the head peep raided the clearance bin at Petco and found us a new interactive toy with bells on it, we were all in.

First, there was the Pierre sniff test.

Then the Newton sniff test.

Followed by the team sport: synchronized sniffing.

None of Newton’s high-flying moves were documented, but they are the reason that sturdy toys are a must. Here, we see Newton preparing for a leap.

Pierre and Ashton, on the other hand, liked their bells at ground level.

Pierre was the final victor, putting the bitey on the bell toy and making sure that it was all his.

Newton Does Another Naughty Thing

Naughty Newton strikes again. Do you see the scandalized look on Pierre’s face as he looks on?

2013-08-08 21.10.28

Newton has a new habit of biting. Not biting like Cathy Keshia does the TW, either. No, Newton’s biting comes along with some amorous moves. (We won’t include photographic evidence of those in our blog post, in case kittens are reading along with you.)

2013-08-08 21.43.00

Besides putting vampire-style holes in the head peep’s arm, it just seems odd that a nearly five year old cat would suddenly decide to express his dominance quite this way.

2013-08-08 21.12.26

Has anyone else had a cat who did this? Any suggestions about ways to successfully redirect him so he’s not trying to make out nightly with the head peep’s arm?

More Tunnel Tactics

Pierre: I think there’s something in the tunnel.

2013-08-08 17.13.29

Pierre: It smells like… Newton.

2013-08-08 17.13.28

Pierre: Newton, did the tunnel eat you? Do you need help?

2013-08-08 17.13.32

Pierre: Newton?

Newton: Ow!

2013-08-08 17.13.39

Newton: What were you doing? I was hiding!

2013-08-08 17.13.47
Pierre: You don’t look very hidden to me!

Newton: Hey!

2013-08-08 17.15.39

Newton: I think it’s less dangerous inside the tunnel.
