Swag Saturday

Newton: The head peep got back from BlogPaws last Sunday, but it has taken all week for her to let us see all of the swag she brought back.

Pierre: That might have been because of the way you tried to unpack it on your own.

Newton: It wasn’t my fault. Cats like opportunities! I found an opportunity to check out the bag of freeze-dried food that Christine from Oh My Shih Tzu sent home for us. It was for us, after all, right?

Swag_BreakIn

Pierre: That looks like a little more than just checking it out.

Newton: *burp*

Pierre: *sigh*

Punctured_Stella_and_Chewys

Newton: Anyway, did you want me to tell everyone about the swag she did finally unpack from BlogPaws?

Pierre: Go right ahead.

Newton: There’s so much of it that the head peep insists we can’t eat all of it, and we have to share it with Cousins Shep and Earl and with some of our other friends here in town who aren’t as fortunate as we are.

BlogPaws_Swag_Newton_sm

Pierre: It’s good to share with others, especially those who aren’t as fortunate as you are.

Newton: I’m going to pick out the good toys before they are given away. If I drool on this feather, I can keep it, right?

BlogPaws_Swag_Newton02_sm

Newton: In addition to the swag bags from BlogPaws, we got lots of wonderful things from my fan club.

Pierre: Those probably weren’t all for you.

Newton: Sure they were! So I personally wanted to thank them all. There were wonderful gifts from Sheebie at Katnip Lounge, my new friend Meg at Housecat Confidential, and Ms. Stella O’Houligan from On a More Personal Note. Oh, and a catbell from Waffles, not to mention soap from Priscilla the Goat.

Pierre: I’m just going to sit here and watch to see what you do with that soap.

Ashton: Don’t forget the homemade treats that Oui Oui at Twinkletoe Tails sent for me!

Pierre: Since the head peep finally met Ms. Stella O’Houligan‘s human, she was able to buy one of her famous catnip quilts. This one actually says BlogPaws 2014 right on it!

Pierre_blogpaws_quilt01_sm

As a connoisseur of fine catnip, I give this dazed paws up!

Pierre_blogpaws_quilt02_sm

Newton: Ms. Stella, your human does great work. It takes a lot to make a mancat like me this silly.

Newton_blogpaws_quilt0_sm

*whew* I’m worn out.

Newton_blogpaws_quilt02_sm

Pierre: Since Newton is laying down on the job, it’s up to me to say thank you to everyone who the head peep forgot to tell us to thank. Good help is so hard to find.

Newton: Yes, thank you to my whole fan club.

Pierre: Oh, Newton, they’re not your… you know, never mind. Let’s go see if we can have some of those new treats.

Field Trip Friday: The Katnip Lounge Catio

One of the highlights of the BlogPaws trip was the head peep’s visit to the famous Katnip Lounge catio. She knew the catio was nearby when she saw this sign.

A serene, blue cat overlooked the yard, too.

But the real stars of the show were inside the catio. Maui looked down on everyone from a catwalk just out of reach…

… until Sparkle’s human lured Maui down while she visited with Salem. Sparkle’s human is apparently made of catnip.

The Baby was ready to visit with everybody.

Johnson, on the other hand, was happy to keep to himself inside one of the hidey-hole boxes. He wasn’t too thrilled to have a smartphone camera stuck inside to snap his photo.

Sylester is a super-sweet boy and made a big show of rolling around on top of his cat tree.

Yes, it’s Maui again, showing off the best spots to chill out on the catio.

Sweet Pea came outside… then realized that visitors were there and made a bee line back inisde.

A great, big thank you to Sheebie for organizing the catio tours and to all of the kitties for patiently tolerating so many visitors waving cameras at them. You were all so kind to host our visits during BlogPaws!

Plush Ashton’s Adventures at BlogPaws

While we were pining away here last week for the head peep, Plush Ashton got to go along with her to BlogPaws in Las Vegas. She was so tired from the trip, it took her a few days to feel up to telling you about her adventures sightseeing all over the Westin Lake Las Vegas resort before, during and after the conference.

Of course, Plush Ashton rode in style the whole time.

She got to meet all kinds of kitties, dogs, and other critters while she was there, too, like the always-stylish Coco the Couture Cat from Curlz and Swirlz. Who else rides in a pink Catillac?

She met Leo from Cascadian Nomads, riding safely in his popemobile.

She had a visit with Mini-Cloon from Clooney’s Num-Num Fund. She LOVED his little suitcase.

Plush Ashton attended a very special party attended by Ginger Jasper’s parents and shared an epic cat blogger reunion photo with him, Coco the Couture Cat, JB, Chester, Gaia, Charli, (but not Armani… don’t ask, his feelings are probably hurt), Stella O’Houligan, and Neytiri.

She saw a capybara. It looked like a gerbil until she got close and realized that it was larger than many of the dogs attending the conference!

There was a litter of bottle baby kittens on hand from Kitty Bungalow. Plush Ashton didn’t participate in feeding them.

She met Rover from Life with Dogs and Cats.

She even met HHGutt, Cathy Keisha‘s traveling doppelganger, along with George the Duck.

She also met the celebrikitty Waffles, riding in his famous Waffle Wagon.

blogpaws_waffles_glogirly

He was gracious enough to pose for the camera with Plush Ashton. She thinks he’s sweet on her, and we have caught her gazing endlessly at this photo and sighing.

There were so many more great people and plushes she met, too. She still can’t figure out why she never got a photo taken with Plush Savvy from Savannah’s Paw Tracks.

All too soon, the conference came to a close, and it was time to pack up and head for home.

But Plush Ashton had other plans. She stopped in the airport for a quick turn at the slot machines before it was time to fly back to where she belonged.

Plush Ashton sure gets around, doesn’t she? There’s more from her trip, and tomorrow we will see some photos of other celebrikitties as we get a peek at the visit to the Katnip Lounge!
