St. Catrick’s Day and the Licking of the Icing

For St. Catrick’s Day, we always participate in the traditional licking of the icing.

What, you don’t have this tradition at your house? We’ll be happy to tell you about it. First, you get a cupcake.

Newton: It’s really St. Catrick’s Day again?

Newton: Yesss!

Pierre: I’m getting my share of St. Catrick’s Day icing, too.

Ashton: Do you MIND, Newton? It’s traditional to lick the icing without having a cat staring at you.

As you can see, the key to licking the icing is not to eat it all, but to just have a taste.

Newton: I want more!

Pierre: No, the rest is for the head peep. Let her have her licks, too.

Ashton: If the head peep wanted some icing, I’m pretty sure she would have gone first.

Are you going to lick the traditional icing at your house for St. Catrick’s Day, too?

These photos are beautiful!! The first one with the cat’s nose right up to the icing is great! I loved hearing about this tradition at your house. It should be incorporated into all holidays.

Whoa that looks like such a great tradition.
Evidently the tradition here is to get two itty bitty Cheerios from Mom..
Yep I was trying to help her eat breakfast, she tried to make me quit by putting two cheerios on my plate.
