Both Pierre and Newton went to visit the vet the same day last week. Pierre was scheduled for his six month senior exam, and Newton was scheduled for a dental cleaning.
One of the fun things about going to our vet is seeing the names of the other cats who are coming in that day. I want to meet the person who named their cat Xanax. Not to mention Kittenator!
Pierre got examined first thing. He was such a good boy for his weigh in.
I had been worried that he may have lost weight, but it was only a fraction of an ounce. If he hadn’t had to skip breakfast because of Newton’s dental, he probably would have weighed more than during his last visit.
He was really patient for the rest of his exam, too.
Pierre: It would be okay if we just skipped this part, though. I’m perfect!ย
While getting Newton’s paperwork in order for his dental procedure, I let him out of his carrier for a few minutes. He took the opportunity to check on his brother.
Usually, when Newton is loose in the exam room, he is running all over, and he is especially trying to get out the back door to the procedure area. It was interesting to see him choosing to stay close to Pierre, instead.
Newton: Don’t worry, I know the way out. It’s that door. My girlfriend lives back there.
Pierre: I’m fine right here, thanks.ย
Newton’s dental went fine, and he has nice, clean teeth now.
When it was time to pick him up, I brought Cupcake with me for a weigh-in. People have been asking me how much she weighs recently, and I didn’t know, so this was an opportunity to find out. She weighs almost 8 lbs now!
She considered climbing up onto Dr. Avok’s shoulder until she realized “You aren’t my human!”
This was the first time I had three cats to the vet on the same day, and it’s good to know it’s possible to accomplish, even though I don’t plan to do it again any time soon.

Yeah, three cats at the vet is a bit much! My human has done it, but she needed help. Cupcake already weighs a pound more than I do! She is going to be a big kitty! Well, maybe Binga sized, which is bigger than me by about two and a half pounds.
Mom has decided 2 at a time is more than enough. ๐ What caught mom’s attention was the name Versace on the sign…made her laugh. Glad everyone got a clean bill of health.
You sure had your hands full! I see Ashton was able to successfully avoid the family trip ๐
I almost always have two, both are seniors with health issues that require bloodwork. Add to that I have to take an Uber/Lyft – makes it interesting – I have been asked to put the cats in the trunk, dont allow the carrier on the seat, and why is it making those loud noises. Oh well have to schedule a visit this week.
Oh gosh, three cats is a lot to handle! We only did that once (for their dentals) and I would like to try and avoid that again in the future!
Three cats at the same time, that’s a lot ! We agree with Summer, Cupcake is already big, and she’s going to be a big adult kitty. Purrs
Looks like everyone did ok and looked after each other.
You are brave to take all three.
Hugs madi and mom
We’re glad all went well for everybuddy. The most the mom has taken is 2 at one time, and she says that’s too much!
You are so very brave to attempt that ! I wouldn’t even try that with my crazy bunch ! I love the pictures you took and I’m glad that the kitties are all doing well ! Little Miss Cupcake sure has grown ! I love when you share your “family ” adventures with us.
love the vetwrap finger ๐
Taking all of your cats to the vet is an exercise in emergency preparedness. How long does it take you to round up all of your cats and get them in carriers and into the car so you can get out. I once took eight cats to the vet, it was a very interesting experience.
That’s a bit much taking all three of them. But I’m sure they were the stars of the vet. Nice to hear all’s well.
Hooray for successful vet appointments!
