Table Manners

Some slightly muddy smartphone photos in this series, but this is a rare glimpse into a daily routine at our house.

Ashton: It’s mealtime? Sit right down at the table. I’m waiting!

I said, I’M WAITING OVER HERE! Want to insert some food right inside here?

brown tabby licks her lips waiting for snack

You’re not going to share that sandwich? How about some chicken? Pleeeease?

I’m waving my paw over here. It doesn’t get any cuter than this. Make with the chicken!

Does this work at your house? If you haven’t tried, you should. I can score chicken like this pretty much every time. And if not, there’s always that sandwich….

Oh, I know ALL the tricks! They only work on my human’s boyfriend, but they DO work!

Nicki has similar tricks when it involves deli ham. Good score, Ashton!

Thanks for the good thoughts for Nicki; we’re hoping the retest, after fasting, will bring normal results. Really, really, really hoping. (I’d given him Weruva chicken and duck that morning, it has a high tuna content — that’s the only different food. If it wasn’t that, we’re in trouble.)

Wanna know something? We’re not particularly interested in people foods. So when the peeps eat, we don’t usually beg for their food.

You are too cute Ashton 🙂 Yes, it works here too which is why we now eat in the dining room ( a cat free zone).

Ashton, Mr Jinx has been known to get up into Mom or Dads plate to take what he can off of it! He does the paw waving too. He has better luck with Dad than Mom!

Ashton, we are constantly being reprimanded to get off the table, especially Mauricio (who growls when forced off) and Lily Olivia. One of our angels (Steamer) snagged an entire pork chop off of Mom’s plate once. That was about 25 years ago, and it ruined it for the rest of us. Good job, Ashton. Mom says she probably couldn’t have resisted your adorable face. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo

Glad you got some Ashton. I don’t like people food very much so I never ask for it. Sometimes mum will give me some chicken or fish, but I usually walk off.

TW is a pushover if she knows I won’t like what they’re eating. If they have Chinese food, she’s a bi-atch about it.
