It’s the Scoop: Review and Giveaway

Ashton: Did you know that you should replace your litter boxes once a year? It’s true.

Ashton_on_cat_tree_sm

Ashton: While I was waiting for treats, I asked around, and there doesn’t seem to be a guideline like that for replacing the scoop you use to clean the litter every day. I know this because our litter scoop was pretty old. Older than me. Older even than Pierre, and he’s old!

Pierre: I heard that!

Ashton: Well, it’s true. Our litter scoop was really old. So when the head peep met the the folks from K-Kat Innovative Pet Products earlier this year and they insisted that she try their It’s the Scoop, she thought she might as well. She didn’t really think that it would be any better than the plastic one she has been using for more than ten years, but at least it would be new. It looked durable, too.

She was also surprised that it was six inches wide. Our previous litter box scoop was over an inch narrower. That meant that she was covering more of the litterbox every time she scooped.

The thing she really liked was how fast the It’s the Scoop sifted litter. We made a little movie so you can see the difference. If you are eating your dinner at the computer, don’t watch it, because it has real mancat litterbox stuff in it. (You can click to watch if it doesn’t display below for you.)

Pierre: How did you know that was mancat litterbox stuff?

Ashton: Because ladycats don’t let their business end up on YouTube. Seriously, Pierre.  Anyhow, the head peep loves how much faster she can clean our litter, and I love it, too, because she can be done with scooping the litterbox and get back to giving me treats.

Pierre: Do you remember what she said about the people who invented it?

Ashton: She said that they have lots of cats, too!

Pierre: The inventors of the It’s a Scoop should know about scooping litterboxes. They aren’t just pet products people. They also run Tabby Town USA, a non-profit, no-kill rescue in Wisconsin, so they scoop a lot of litter. We like that this scoop started out as the idea of people who do cat rescue!

Hey, we’re not proud. Mom says she’ll try it if we win it. Our plastic scoops don’t last as long as yours has. They tend to break at some point. Mom says. “Thanks for the review.” XO, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

Mom just replaced our old litterbox (FINALLY) with one of those taller one because well Ashton put your paws over your ears, Mr Jinx has a aim issue. Like up and over the side issue. So the new box helps but didn’t solve it totally. But this looks like an excellent problem solver.

That scooper looks great! The mom heard she should buy new litter boxes at Blogpaws and the first thing she did was buy us all new ones. It made sense and the ones we had she bought when she had her first cats, a generation ago when she first graduated from college.

We had no idea that we are supposed to replace our litter boxes once a year! Thanks for the tip! Also, that scoop looks pawesome!!! Our mommy loves how much faster it sifts. She gets so tired of the slow sifting scooper we have now.

P.S. We got our Simple Solution litter in the mail last week and have been using it for a few days now. So far so good!!! It makes mommy’s job of scooping so much easier since she doesn’t have as much to scoop in the box with the new litter. Thanks again!!!

that is a nice scoop! ours is a smallish and metal and it isn’t easy to get all of Smidge’s monster clumps in one go. Thanks for sharing about this one and having the drawing!

Really good review Ashton. Dad just got a new scoop as he was so tired of the plastic one for the front pan. He had b nice metal scoop for the back pan and that works really well. This looks great too. I think the little plastic ones may be alright for one or two cat households but we have 7. That’s a lot of… Yes that is a nice scoop
We will get one to support Tabby town next time we need one

Hi Ashton. I like that it catches all the little pieces also. I don’t like stepping on those. TW LOVES the scoop she’s been using for 20 years now. I’m gonna enter anyhoo to give her a hint. She loves her scoop cos the handle is hollow so the poop goes directly into a bag for disposal. No muss; no fuss.
