Pierre: I’m keeping an eye on one of our neighbors. Can you see him?
Look more closely! Do you see him in the water?
That’s our neighbor, Ollie the alligator. Thanks to Claire from The Swiss Cats for helping us name our neighbor.
We see a lot of Ollie this time of year, going for a swim in the pond or sunbathing on the bank. Sometimes Ollie even does both at once, sunbathing on the bank, snout in the water.
Newton told me that alligators don’t have alligator kittens. They lay eggs instead.
Then it hit me: We see Ollie a lot this time of year. Alligators have eggs. THAT’S WHERE EASTER EGGS COME FROM! The Easter Alligator!
Why am I the only one who has figured this out?

Amazing ! Ollie is the real Easter bunny, eeew, gator ! But how does he/she manage to bring the eggs to Switzerland ?!? Do you think Ollie is using some special teleportation tunnel ? Purrs
WHOA! My human knew it! She remembers being a human kitten, and when her grandmother told her the Easter Bunny was the one who laid the eggs, she knew that the whole Easter Bunny story was FALSE because rabbits don’t lay eggs. Of COURSE it’s an alligator! Duh.
Weren’t you scared? I would be!!
That’s soooo scary!! Hows can you not Hiss at it to makes it go away?
OMC who knew that the sweet little bunny was rally Ollie the Alligator? You’re very smart to have figured it out!
The Florida Furkids
We’re not sure we would want to get one of Ollie’s eggs. 😉
You are SO smart, Pierre!
Pierre, even if your reasoning is correct in theory, we know we have no alligators in our neck of the woods, so your theory may have a fewwholes in it, but we don’t care ’cause you are the cutest thing with your sweet and innocent face. Please come by our blog and see to what you are entitled but have been denied. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona Astrid, Lisbeth an Calista Jo
An alligator?!? That’s scary! We are glad we don’t have any alligators around here. We do have Easter eggs, though.

O!M!G!!! You are a genius!!! MOL
(actually, when mom’s niece was little she was convinced there was a Christmas rabbit and we had to leave carrots on the front porch Christmas Eve – it was pretty freaking cute)
MOL good discovery Pierre. BTW are the gators trapped at a certain size and rehomed? That sure looks like a pretty big gator to us. Happy Gator Easter! tee hee
Oh Pierre, you are a genius. We didn’t know you live in National Geographic area, how cool you have lake views. I bet the ducks and geese provide a lot of entertaining hours and you have a neighbor that could devour a whole chikkun? Aren’t you scared?
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh Ollie is a most impressive neighbor. Thank goodness you only visit from afar. Do they lay their eggs up in the grass around the water?
Hugs madi your bfff
A purr-fect deduction. You are both very observant and brilliant, Pierre!
I don’t want any of those eggs.
Well worked out Pierre, but the Easter Alligator doesn’t have the same ring to it as the Easter Bunny.
Dang, my pal Barney is gonna be surprised to hear the news!
Those things look vishus. I wouldn’t bring one of their eggs in the house.
Huh. We had no idea! Mom is from Florida so she knows about gators like your neighbor, but we’ve never seen one ourselves.
Wow! That is quite the theory!
I think so Pierre! Gotta tell ya though, if I could see that outside MY window I would MOVE and FAST!!! The hell with “Alligator TV!” I’ll stick with BIRD TV!!
Wow! Just wow! Easter Alligator, how cute.
DOOD. That’s, like PROFOUND. (we can tell it hit you that way too from that last photo)
Oh We hope that Ollie doesn’t come to visit you Pierre. Glad you kitties stay inside. Happy Easter to all of you.
Pierre, that is absolutely brilliant! I think you deserve treats for that theory!
wow! You have super cool visitors!
You’re very smart Pierre. But I don’t think I’d want to have an Easter Alligator visit. And I’m not sure I’d want one for a neighbor either.
Whoa, you have alligator TV! Way better than bird or squirrel TV.
We would never go outside where YOU are!
We live in Florida too, but we’ve never seen TV like yours! Easter blessings from my feline gang Zee & Zoey’s Cat Chronicles! Have a wonderful day all!
No alligators here. But Pierre, you have beautiful eyes and a sweet handsome face!
Easter Ally-gator? Not sure I want any of those eggs! Happy Easter.
Absolutely brilliant, Pierre! We never would have thought of that.
Woh.. that brings a whole new meaning to the holiday, doesn’t it?
