Lizard Watch 2018

Newton: What are you looking at, Pierre?

Pierre: Shh, there’s a lizard!

Newton: Inside? Where?

Pierre: No, it’s on the window. Your hunting instincts are about as sharp as that fluffy tail of yours.

Newton: Oh, THAT. I could hardly see it because of all of the nose prints on the glass.

Pierre: That would be more lizard for me to chase, then.

Newton: I don’t think it works that way. If I go away, you still have the same number of lizards to chase: one.

Pierre: But then I’m not sharing that lizard with you. And it’s quieter that way, too.

Cupcake: Hi Mr. Newton. Mr. Pierre. What is quieter?

Pierre: Not this lizard hunt.

Cupcake: There’s a lizard? WERE?

Newton: Calm your tail, kid. I’m going to grab it.

Newton: Where did it go?

Cupcake: You can’t see better from up there?

Pierre: You scared it away, Newt.

Newton: I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to scare it away.

Cupcake: It might come back.

Newton: Cupcake is right. Maybe if we wait it’ll come back.

Pierre: You wait. When the lizard comes back, call me.

Newton: What do you think, should I call him if I see the lizard again?

Lizards are cool! One got in the house once and I watched him for a couple of days before my human was able to get him.

Oh, I was supposed to catch him, not my human? Oops!

We don’t have lizards here…but we wish we did. They would be so much fun to play with.

No don’t call him back. He should know the saying, “You snooze, you lose.”

No, Newton. Don’t call him. You are doing all the work, why share?

Pierre, when Manny or CB are hunting squirrels from the inside, they get as frustrated as you do when I stick my head in the window and watch!

Sure, call him. But REALLY REALLY softly. That way he wont hear, but you wont be lying.

I have a couple of questions for you. What would you do with the lizard if you caught it? Would it be a toy for you, a present for the hoomans or dinner? Also, what is the chance, in percentages, of the likelihood of catching it? I’m guessing you have about 10% chance. Am I right? Love those pictures of you all.

You guys are so lucky you get to see lizards! We just get water bugs. We’re really not allowed to talk about them because Mommy has an anxiety attack when one is in the house!
