Adorable Adoptable: Bushler

Bushler from Candy's CatsToday’s adorable adoptable is Bushler, a beautiful, four-year-old ginger boy who was originally rescued as a semi-feral kitten from the woods next to a convenience store. He was adopted when young but then returned to Candy’s Cats for being too shy. Just like many cats, he isn’t confident in a new home, and he needs time to adjust to a new environment. Once he is comfortable with you, he’ll follow you around the house and loves to be petted.

As a shy cat, he won’t climb onto your lap by himself, but if you put him there and pet him, he will let you hear his best purr. He is most active in the evenings, when you’re most likely to see him play with a toy mouse or give the scratching post a good workout.

Bushler is a special boy because he has stomatitis and allergies to some grasses and foods. His stomatitis meant that he had to have all of his teeth pulled, and he sometimes gets mouth ulcers from a feline herpes virus infection, but don’t worry, he loves to eat soft food! He takes a supplement for his stomatitis to keep it under control.

Bushler from Candy's CatsHe’s a great self-groomer and keeps himself looking good for the ladies. He needs an extra helping hand once a week with a sponge or damp towel bath to prevent his saliva from discoloring his beautiful fur.

Although he is an indoor cat, Bushler loves to lounge in sunbeams, and his favorite spot in his foster home is in the windowsill watching the cat TV or sitting on the stairs where he can see what his happening all over the household.

Bushler is good with the other cats in his foster home, and he doesn’t mind dogs. Visit Bushler’s Petfinder page where you can squee over his kitten photo and contact Candy’s Cats to learn more about how this sweet boy may be a good fit for your family.

Adorable Adoptables: Miss Stella

Stella_sm_lLovely Miss Stella is a beautiful black kitty with extra toes. Some people call cats like her Hemingway cats after the author Ernest Hemingway and his love for polydactyl (many-toed) cats. Ernest Hemingway would have loved Miss Stella. She is full of energy and affection, and she loves to cuddle at night.

Miss Stella is an extra-special girl because she has no vision in her left eye. The veterinarian believes that she lost vision in her eye due on illness that went untreated when she was a kitten. Other than not having vision, the eye is healthy enough and doesn’t need to be removed.

Miss Stella, adoptable through Whiskers and Paws in Orlando FLHaving one eye doesn’t slow down Miss Stella at all. She loves her foster brothers and sisters and spends lots of time playing with them. She is the type of cat who gets bored without a companion kitty, so she would love to join a household that already has a cat so that she always has a friend to keep her company.

Not only does Miss Stella like other cats, she also likes dogs, and she is great with children. If you are looking for a fun, friendly new family member, Miss Stella wants to meet you and show you why she’s the one you’ve been looking for.

Miss Stella is available through Whiskers and Paws in the Orlando, FL area. Click to email her foster home directly and ask about Miss Stella!

Adorable Adoptables: Babykins

This is the first post of our Adorable Adoptables series, featuring special cats who are all looking for loving homes. That’s right, if you fall in love with a cat featured here, that kitty could become part of your family. These special adoptables are one of a kind, so don’t hesitate to contact the rescue group to find out more if you see a kitty that might be “the one” for you!

babykins_from_candys_cats_smOur first adorable adoptable is Babykins. She’s the cutest cow kitty, with gorgeous green eyes and a big, kissable splotch of black on her nose.

This sweet, young cat was found foraging for food at an abandoned trailer when she was about five months old. Who knows how she ended up there or how long she was there. Shy at first with strangers, she has blossomed into a cuddly girl with her foster family, and she’s hoping for a lap to call her own with a forever family.

Just like any other young cat, Babykins loves to play, and her favorite toy is the red dot. If she practices a little more, she may be the first cat ever to be able to say that she caught the red dot!

Babykins_from_candys_cats3_smLShe has tested positive for the feline leukemia virus, but currently has no symptoms and is a happy, healthy girl. This means she’s looking for a special home with a family who either has no other cats, or already has a kitty who is FeLV-positive. The FeLV-positive kitty at her foster home is a little too old to want to play with Babykins, but she wants to play, so she would be a good companion cat if you have a FeLV-positive kitty who gets lonely. She is good with calm dogs, too, so maybe she’s the company your home alone dog has been looking for.

Babykins is available for adoption through Candy’s Cats in Orlando, FL. Visit her Petfinder profile to find out how you can fall in love with her today!
