Ashton’s Big, Brave Adventure

Ashton: Those of you who are on Twitter heard about my big adventure the other night, but I wanted to tell the rest of my friends, too.

Ashton atop cat tree

Newton: Seriously? They don’t want to hear this, Ashton. It’s almost putting me to sleep already.

Newton falling asleep sitting up

Ashton: Stop it, Newt! Everything isn’t about you.

Newton: *shakes head*

Ashton: As I was saying…. This happened the other night, so there aren’t any photos, but I was sitting out on the porch like I do when it’s open. We are running out of cool nights to have the porch open, and I’m enjoying it every chance I get. Let me do an reenactment to put you in the mood…

Ashton looks out of porch

Ashton: When along came the neighbor’s cat. He came right up to the screen! Talk about having no manners. Well, he’s an orange cat, and you know how orange cats are with manners.

Newton: I heard that!

Ashton: Well, it’s true. Orange cats have no manners, and the neighbor’s cat especially. He said some things that made the tips of my ears blush. Well, I wasn’t just going to take that. I puffed up my tail so it was bigger than Newton’s.

Newton: See, it really *is* all about me. You can’t stop talking about me and my glorious tailio.

Ashton: Shut UP, Newt! I was just saying I can puff up my tail as big as yours.

Newton: No you can’t.

Ashton: Oh, yes, I can!

Ashton with fat tail

Newton: Well, okay, maybe you can.

Ashton: Anyhow. I puffed up my tail and I hissed, and the neighbor’s cat made a terrible noise, and then he ran away. I scared him away!

Newton: *sigh* The head peep got up from her desk to see what the noise was, and the neighbor’s cat ran away from her.

Ashton: Shut UP, Newton! My friends on Twitter all believed in me! Do you see what they tweeted to the head peep about it?

We didn’t know about your big adventure so we sure are happy you told us about it here (Mommy doesn’t get Twitter). Was that puffy tail of yours an re-enactment too, Ashton? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Ashton dear friend I believe you…especially if the cat was as aggravating as the bushy tailed rodents who come up on my porch waving their stingy tails in my face.

HOwever, I was not aware of the ‘orange cats have no manners’ factoid but then I’ve never met an orange cat either. mol mol mol

Ashton we know you are braver than Newton because if he was even a little tiny bit brave he would have come on the porch and been your minder.

Mr Jinx is so proud of you Miss Ashton. He said he would put that orange cat in it’s place for you no problem! WWOOOOOOHOOOOO to say all the kitties are excited is an understatement. We just are never very lucky in contests so we are doubly no quadruly (is that a word?) excited!!! YAY and this is Annabelle’s first time at winning anything!
