Newton has stolen Ashton’s spot.
He is hoping that nobody notices that he is fluffy and orange and offers him Ashton’s share of the chicken at dinner time.
Update about Ashton: After two days of taking her antibiotics in pill pockets, Ashton has decided that she will not eat anything with Baytril in it. Even the head peep can’t handle Ashton enough to pill or give liquid medications, so we are looking into getting antibiotics compounded into treats. We really don’t want to have to resort to Covenia to medicate her. The good news is that she seems to feel fine and doesn’t understand what all the fuss is about.
Sweet Purrfections says
That’s a great spot to wait for dinner.
The Island Cats says
We don’t know if that’s gonna work for you, Newton…but you can hope. 🙂
Hannah and Lucy says
We hope that changing the medication to taste of treats works – we are holding our breath on this one. We are crossing our paws and claws for your peeps.

How can you resist that face. Good job newton. Hope you can figure out the medication for Ashton. It is tough to get medication down them. Good luck to you. Take care.
Crepes says
Newton. Maybe try a disguise, like get in a pillow case and then wait. They won’t think to check inside. – Crepes.

I’d give you treats, Newton. I had an antibiotic shot once cos I’m hard to medicate and had no effects. I don’t know what it was cos TW wasn’t as smart about cats as she is now.
William says
Newton, you blend right in there, bud!
Brian says
Good luck Newton! We hope Ashton is okay and you figure out a way to give her the meds. Our peeps are so lucky, we all take pills without any fuss.
Laila and Minchie says
Newton, you match all that wood purrfectly! Hoping the meds disguised as treats will do the trick.
Annie says
The pictures of Newton are so cute!!
I hope the compounding will work for Ashton. It didn’t work for Annie and she too quickly stopped the Pill Pockets. I’m wishing you all luck!
Oui Oui says
Ask your vet for a pharmacy that will make the meds in different flavors. There are all kinds of kitty friendly ones like tuna, salmon, liver, chicken etc. We did this with Mica Moo who can spot a med in anything and will eat the pill pocket from around the pill, and who is traumatized by pilling. There was one, not too far from us in Baltimore but we had it sent UPS and we had it the next day.
The Swiss Cats says
Hey Newton, you match the wood ! We hope Ashton will be OK. Purrs
Maxwell, Faraday & Allie says
