Oh, Those Tempting Decorations!

Newton: I love this time of year because there are extra cat toys in the house. And they are all collected in one place for me. Is anyone looking? No? Let’s go!

First you go for the grab. Get a good hold because the branches are kind of bouncy.

Then you go in for the kill.        * CHOMP *

Whaaaaat?

You wouldn’t dangle it there if it wasn’t for me to play with, would you?

About Those Decorations

Newton is actually right. The decorations on the tree are there for him. There are no breakable ornaments below about five feet on the tree, and the ones along the bottom are mostly little, plush toys that we expect to find scattered around the floor. Newton is happy to take care of that duty!

My human does the same thing! The ornaments on the bottom branches are all the non-breakable ones. We are pretty good about the tree and the ornaments, though.

Who can resist! We do the same thing and only have non-breakable ones on the bottom. Really cute pictures.

Looking handsome, Newton. I think your lookout failed! Presents of no, the tree of cat toys is worth it, right?

The mom only puts soft or unbreakable toys…er, we mean ornaments…on the bottom of the tree because we can’t resist playing with them either!

I redecorated the bottom of my tree a few times this year, by batting them off the tree and across the floor, but the ornaments have lost their appeal. Maybe I ‘ll try your technique of getting all four paws on them and giving them a good wrestle.

You know, if you put them there for him to play with, you can’t call him naughty for playing with them.

Same here. Mom never puts anything breakable where we can reach it. Fortunately (SO FAR) nobuddy here bothers the tree.

Isn’t your mom wonderful to hang those ornaments down there just for you?

You are lucky you get to play with the toys. When I try, the tree pelts me with these sharp green things like needles.
