We’re very sad to share the news that cousin Nellie passed away today.
She had been at the VET for a few days with an unidentified illness that was getting worse, and the results of the exploratory surgery were poor enough that they let her go without waking her back up. We are all heartbroken.
We aren’t sure exactly how old Nellie was. She had was brought to Northwood Animal Hospital injured over ten years ago, and she was taken into their good Samaritan adoption program. There, she underwent surgery to pin her leg and had her broken jaw set. Her long stay at the vet clinic left her well-socialized and friendly, and she was adopted through their program by our grandpeep.
She lived with our grandpeep for nine years. When our grandpeep got sick and moved to live with our aunt, cousins Nellie and Earl came along, too. At our aunt’s house, Nellie, who had never had many toys, enjoyed playing with toys and climbing a custom cat tree. She also discovered the wonders of the iPad, which was her favorite toy of all.
She was a sweet cat who loved nothing better than cuddling close with you. She grew very close to our aunt peep this past year, and though all of us will miss her, our aunt will miss her most of all.
Goodbye, sweet Nellie.
