Cats Herd You

Cousin Earl got a new toy today! He seems to be fond of chasing balls, so this seemed like a good fit. He timidly tries it out by batting at the ball with his paw.

At that point he decides that his paw isn’t the right tool for the job and goes after it with his mouth!

If at first you don’t succeed,

Try another angle.

It looked like he may have decided flipping over may help matters, but it never turned all the way over.

In the end, Earl went right back to the paw. Tried and true.

Newton may have misplaced his attention (nothing new there) but there is no mistaking those dilated eyes and forward pointed ears of Pierre’s.

A quick lunge and that iPad never knew what hit it!

He is showing that bug what for with both paws!

The app is called Cat Toy Plus and this is just one of many options. It is quite popular with all of our kitties. They give it two paws up!

This kind of birdie not even Ashton and her Short Attention Span Theater or Newton’s ADHD could get distracted from.

Newton is quite the toy hog when these three play as a group.

Maybe it is his size, or his newly found, more aggressive need to be the center of the universe again like he was a kitten.

Either way, he is becoming the king of play.

Pierre is no old man when the good toys come out.

He can show that birdie a thing or two.

He is not afraid to give it a good whap.

Don’t worry! Ashton gets to play, too. Just don’t get her on her blind side.

Ashton has tuned in to a fascinating episode of Cat TV. A pair of endangered Sandhill cranes are walking right by the back window.

Unfortunately, Short Attention Span Theater has caught her off guard and drawn her eye into the house.

Too bad Ash, those cranes would have made a pretty good dinner.
