Cousin Earl got two new mats today!
The first one is made of sisal and although it came with a pack of catnip, it never had to be opened. Evidently the proximity of the nip was enough for him.
We couldn’t be more proud when he did exactly what he was supposed to on the mat!
He found this mat second. By then he was quite tired from all of the excitement of the new “toy” and the catnip.
It will be a process to keep the claws on the the mats. Clearly he is very used to dragging himself around that way. But he showed promise today. Hooray for Earl!
(And thanks again to everybody who made scratcher suggestions for him. They really helped us pick these out as the first new options for him to try!)
Looks like the mats are a hit! I hope that helps with the carpet scratching.
