Earl: Does this mat make me look fat?
It’s been a while since we checked in with Cousin Earl. He is living a lot of the good life these days. Unfortunately, cats with three legs have to distribute all of their weight onto their remaining limbs, and that makes Cousin Earl’s weight a real concern. While everykitty should watch their figure for health reasons, we want to be sure that Earl doesn’t end with a higher chance of arthritis or other issues in his joints from the extra weight, so we’re discussing the best way to put a kitty who loves his kibble onto a diet that satisfies his big appetite. We’ll keep you posted how it goes.

So meez mommy put her on da Barley Cat (it wus cheapew den da uddew tweatments), and hers like a kitty again. Yous can get it fwum lots of places, but amazon is purretty cheap. Hav a Pawsum Munday!! 😀

Best of luck for cousin Earl. I have been phasing out the kibble because it if not healthy. I give our cats more wet food and I want to start replacing the kibble with freeze dried raw cat food. My wife resists me because of the cost but I will get there.
If it works for Uncle Earl, please pass that diet on to my Mom….she could sure use it for HERSELF……..MOL!! Love, Cody

Cousin Earl you are so handsome but we don’t want your joints to hurt. We hope you can find a food you like that will help you trim a little off your handsome physique.
I would follow a vet’s advice and holistic ones offer more options. Happy mancat Monday 🙂
Oh no Cousin Earl. Maybe they can give you some canned food which is not as fattening as the kibble. You really don’t need to be over weight, but it is hard to stay skinny too. Have a great evening.
Such a handsome boy! We understand your concerns – my Delilah has luxating patellas in both of her back legs, and is therefore prone to arthritis. Keeping her weight under control is extremely important, which we do by controlling her portions every day. She eats canned food and raw food, and gets a set amount 3 times a day. All of my cats have that diet actually, and it really seems to work. None of them are overweight. I hope that you have some luck finding a diet that works for Cousin Earl!

Your cousin Earl is a handsome guy. Our three-legged kitty Sammi lost her front paw (her left paw) just before we adopted her. She was thin but we made sure she had lots of perches and steps to go up and down so that she didn’t stress her one front leg. Going up was easy for her, it was the coming down that was difficult. Hopefully Earl can lose a pound or two and that will help him keep his front paw healthy.
OMG! Not only do I use the term “Mancat” for all the males in our house of 7 cats total, but I had a cat named Earl who was missing a BACK leg. He was the sweetest boy ever and had just been given a rough break in life. He later developed an inoperable tumor in his upper jaw that prevented him from being able to eat as it grew, so we had to say goodbye in the most loving way possible. I miss Earlie fiercely!
