Halloween Safety for Cats
Whether you are planning on trick-or-treating for the holiday or having a party with friends, take a few extra minutes to plan for your cat’s safety for Halloween.
I am happy to report that we usually get no visitors these days and that my mom has finally gotten the hint about dressing us up. It’s good info for those humans who are still struggling, though!
THERE ARE NO MORE SMALL CHILDREN IN OUR AREA SO WE DON’T EVEN TURN ON OUR PORCH LIGHT.. AND THE SHOPPING MALLS HAVE TRICK OR TREAT THERE TOO.

Those are good tips! I used to love seeing the little goblins come to the door…until a great big silver alien showed up. No more! That thing was real!!!
fortunately we don’t have many kids around here, so mom just turns off the lights and pretends not to be home. but when she lived in Texas, she had angel Butterscotch – he LOVED trick or treating – he would sit behind the glass door and greet all the kids. they thought he was great ๐
Halloween is one of my top two favorite holidays. But it can also be a bit chaotic, and so these are great tips for keeping the furbabies safe. Thanks for sharing! Purrs!
Yep, TW thought I ran out one year and completely panicked. Of course I hid and watched as she fractically search and even run out in the hall calling my name. It was fun. I love your graphic.
Great tips and I love your infographic. This will be mom’s first Halloween here. We were here last year but she was still down south. It was very quiet here!
This is all very good and very sensible advice! I can’t imagine anyone would feed candy to their cats… but then humans can be amazingly dumb!
Thanks for sharing this. I’ve been known to run out the door when the trick-or-treaters come much to the mom’s dismay. ~Wally
*gasp!* WALLY!
Now you made our mom all worried and stuffs.
*innocent look* Not that we’d EVER try to bolt….
Great tips! This will be Mudpie’s first Halloween with me and I’m not sure how she’s going to feel about all the commotion!
