Good News, Bad News, Good News

Cupcake’s outing on Saturday had some ups and downs. It started out well.

Good News

Her favorite coffee shop patio was open again after weeks of being closed due to painting. And she got some whipped cream from her favorite baristas.

Bad News

Then the painters arrived. At first, they were doing quiet painting things. Then the big noises started.

You can see the high lift behind Cupcake in the photo above. When it suddenly started beeping and moving, Cupcake was not happy at all. The party was over.

To try to end her outing on a positive note, we decided to do one of her favorite things: shopping.

Good News

We visited the big box pet store to see some her friends who work there. She also saw her bird friends who live there, at least until they find forever bird homes.

No, Cupcake, we can’t be a forever bird home.

Cupcake sprawled on top of the cat trees and let one of the passing customers play with her while I explained how Cupcake’s harness fits.

She also tested out some of the feather toys, but she can’t decide which is her favorite. She said she wants to think about it and try again next time we visit.

We can’t wait for them to finish painting the coffee shop patio so Cupcake can spend some time there. Hopefully before the end of the year.

Good for you, Cupcake, hanging in there like that! One of my human’s biggest concerns is that something will spook me and it will stick with me. So whenever I have an unpleasant experience, she immediately tries to give me a good time so I forget about the bad one quickly. I see your human did the same thing with you. Paws up!

That is a pity that the painters spoiled your good time, Cupcake. I am glad you got some good time in the pet shop after to finish on a high note.

Too bad the painters came and ruined your fun, Cupcake. At least you got your whipped cream before they showed up.

You are lucky, Cupcake, to get to go out shopping. You must be a good cat to be allowed out in public like that. Whipcream is always tasty!

Seriously, doesn’t that coffee shop know that they are messing with Cupcake’s routines? Honestly, they need to rethink what they are doing!
