Our friend Wally from the Island Cats showed photos of the framed photos around his house. Some of the photos were of the cat who came before him, and it got us to thinking about the photos in our house of the cats who came before us.
In our house, the cats who came before are all represented by framed photos that sit on one shelf that the had peep thinks we can’t reach. (You can click the photo to biggify.)
Talia, in the leftmost frame, was part of this blog back when it started in 2011. Her brother, Louie, is in the next frame. Rhett, the head peep’s heart kitty, is in the center frame, pictured on pillows, where he slept with the head peep. the black cat in the fourth frame is Cyrano, the oldest cat pictured, and the one who taught us the most, including passing down most of the manners we all know. And the last frame has a photo of Radcliffe, a beautiful boy who we lost far too early to heart failure.
There are no photos of us on the shelf because the head peep can look at us without needing a photo. Besides, if we really wanted to, we could climb up onto the shelf and show off ourselves…. but we can’t let on that we are able to reach the shelf. Don’t tell, okay?

Loved seeing the photos of the cats who came before. They are a good looking crew!
We loved seeing your “before us” pictures and now you’ve set Mum off thinking she might do a post about her before cats sometime – she’ll have to see what pictures she’s still got.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
Mommy says she only had one cat before us. Mimi was her childhood kitty who lived outdoors and tragically died at a very young age from poisoning.
There are no framed photos of us around the house either! Well, there are those of Whisky and some of Cosmo and Ling when they were babies but not all of us.
Very very lovely collection of your furbabes!! Mantels are purrfect for displaying too
Hugs madi your bfff
Those are some great pictures of the cats that came before. All that’s missing is some living art…you!
absolutely LOVE those photos!
Your secret is our secret. We noticed the kitty collars as well. Mom has the collars with name tags attached of all the kitties who came before us. Your predecessors all remain close in your human’s heart forever. Thank you for sharing. Did you notice when you stopped by our award post, that we passed on one to you? Have a great weekend. Purrs and paw-pats, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

Mom has pictures everywhere of all of us but she mostly has pictures framed and unframed (those canvas prints) of Abby. She loves beautiful frames and pictures.
All great photos! We bet you guys enjoy looking at the pictures of your old friends almost as much as your head human does. Oh, and your secret is safe with us 😉
We really enjoyed seeing those great memories too!
How sweet. And we won’t tell about any of you shelf hopping!
That must be great fun to have those nice photos for such good memories. Such fun to look at them all the time. Hope you all have a great week end.
Your secret is safe with us!!!
…we think it’s very sweet that your mom has photos of all the kitties that came before you. And so touching to see the collars. XO
We don’t have very many photos of us out on display at all. …LOTS on the computers, but not too many on shelves.
: ) Katie
It is nice to see the photos of the Cats Who Came Before
Mommy has pictures of all hers and her son’s babies through the years and we love and miss them still. Mom said to tell you she LOVES seeing mom’s who show off their babies as your momma does.
Gee we only have one framed picture of us. On the other paw, there are NO framed pictures of TBT, so we guess that makes US more impawtant (well of course).
We are wondering about Cyrano and exactly WHAT manners he taught all y’alls! MOL.
What a lovely tribute to the fur sibs who came before and those you knew at the Bridge. I have a shelf too that has framed photos of all my fur kids at the Bridge, along with the urns of the ones who were cremated. Just this week I received the custom portrait urn of Ms. Phoebe and placed her in her special spot, it was sad having lost one so recent. As your peep knows, it is always so difficult for us to lose on of you babies and we wish you could be with us forever. Having your portrait around after your gone helps console us when we can look at your picture and remember all the wonderful memories. You are always in our hearts until we all reunite again someday at the Bridge.
