Fishing in the Sink

When we make batches of Newton’s food at home, we bulk freeze some of it into 2 lb bricks because that is the most efficient use of or limited freezer space. That isn’t a practical size for everyday feeding, so the food that we thaw for him to eat every day is in smaller containers. As a result, we periodically have to semi-thaw the bricks to portion them into the smaller containers.

Over the weekend, Cupcake, decided that the containers of thawing food in the sink were absolutely fascinating.

She didn’t seem interested in the food in them, but she wanted to get to whatever was under them.

The problem was, there was nothing under them but a lot of cold water in the sink.

The result was a soggy kitchen.

And some very wet cat paws.

Cupcake is cute. I’m surprised she kept putting her paws in such cold water.

    Cupcake, you are nutty!

P.S. My human is going to try to remember to pack my hoop for BlogPaws so I can get some practice in. And if she brings it, she can bring it around to show you how to train Cupcake. It’s actually pretty easy.

Did you catch anything? That water must have been cold.

That is SO adorable! Mudpie is endlessly fascinated by water as well, but she hasn’t stuck a paw in it…yet!

*I* still think you’re after the food only you don’t realize it’s inside plastic.

Bear used to play in his water bowl on a regular basis. He’d drop a mousie in his water bowl and then go nuts until he finally got it out (and then he’d lick mousie dry). Then I kept finding mousie left in the water bowl (I guess he decided a wet paw wasn’t worth it) … and then I stopped finding toys in his water bowl. Despite the mess, I kind of miss it! And Cupcake is pretty darn adorable!
