Cousin’s big trip

20120621-212755.jpg

We are always safe when we travel by car. Nellie is peeping out of her carrier that is seatbelted in securely. She isn’t quite sure where we are going, but so far, “we” are not thrilled.

She performs a lovely serenade to anyone who will listen for a majority of the drive. She has a beautiful voice!

All of that singing, and we have arrived, but where are we? The V.E.T.! Nellie doesn’t look very distressed?!

20120621-213454.jpg

When she was but a kit, she had quite a boo-boo (most likely from a car) and the V.E.T. from that area took her in. She lived there while she got better.

She had a pin put in one of her rear legs, a few jaw surgeries, and even had a stomach tube for a while.

So, the smell that makes most kitties cower in fear…

20120621-214043.jpg

Reminds her of “home.”

20120621-214153.jpg

Once she realized that they wouldn’t let her in the back (and she kept trying)…

She relaxed and waited for them to come pet her. Perhaps one of the most surreal V.E.T. visits. Ever.

UPDATE: To answer the questions Fuzzy Tails asked in the comments below, the V.E.T. visit wasn’t for anything serious, just for some allergies that have shown up recently. (And, apparently, so Nellie could relive the good times of her youth.)

Oh, Nellie has no fear whatsoever! Amazing. But with her earlier experiences, the VET is probably a place that holds good memories for her. 🙂

Wow, Nellie. You’re one of the very few kitties we’ve seen who’s not screaming to get out and away. LOL. We hope it was just a routine visit (we might have missed important stuff, owing to the fact that our lazy mom hasn’t been keeping up as well as she should).

Nellie, you are very brave. We don’t like going to the v-e-t!
