Adventures in Manscaping

Newton: I had to go get manscaped this weekend. The humans say that I don’t take good enough care of my armpits and that they were getting matted again.

The humans tried to tell me that I should be excited to be the first of us to take our new carriers out of the house. Can you see my excitement?

Newton secured in car with sleepypodRiding in the car isn’t so bad when you can see. This photo was when I heard, “What’s the point of having a crash-tested carrier if you hang out of it?”

Newton peeks out of sleepypod in carI had to wait in the waiting room a while, and a lot of dogs came and went. I’ll tell you, I could have taken on any of them. Well, maybe not that biggest one, but the rest of them. Well, maybe not all at once, but for sure one at a time. I would have shown them which cat was the boss around there. I stayed secure in my carrier instead, though. It’s more comfortable in there, anyhow.

I  wasn’t quite as eager to get out of the carrier once I got to the exam room. I did try to walk around a bit before the vet came in, but the humans insisted that there were bad dog germs around and asked me to go back to my carrier. I agreed, but only because of the germs. Not because I’m afraid of dogs.

Newton waits in carrier at vetThen they grabbed me, kitties. The photos that come next aren’t for the weak at heart. That’s my beautiful mancat armpit hair Dr. K is shaving off!

Getting manscapedYou can tell the humans fear my wrath because of how many hands it took to manscape my armpits. That’s three humans to hold one little cat. And I wasn’t even putting up much of a fight!

Newton gets manscapedIn the end, it wasn’t so bad. I am mat-free and will be for a while, and I’ll be used to the breeze in my armpits in no time.

So how was your weekend?

Newton how awful for you to have to get your armpits manscaped and we think your humans ought to give you extra treats and maybe a freshly cooked chicken to make you feel better.

OMCs I am very impressed with you cat-i-tude….of course I see someone has a grip on your neckfus..which make it kinda hard to unleash your inner lion!
Whoa my friend that is some fine looking manpit furs. Maybe you need to have your manpits waxed. MOL MOL Can you imagine how many Green Berets it would take to hold you for that.
Lots of hugs madi your bfff

Oh, this is very traumatic, no wonder it took three humans to manage this and you do look like you are being very good to them by not flaying the skin off their puny furless arms. That is some impressively thick fur you’ve got going on under there as well. Well done to you,
    Love RedSetter

Ps Pssst, its Magic here. Just don’t come round to ours with your newly nuded pits or that crazy dame we live with will be sizing you up for crocheting some bonkers outfit to ‘keep you warm’. That hat of mine was an abomination so steer clear till you’ve got some fuzz back. Be warned, dude!

Ohhhh! Sorry, but that last photo kind of made us laugh. Okay, it did make us laugh, we admit it. Our weekend was better than that, for sure. LOL.

BTW, angel Chumley used to LOVE being shaved. He’d like there all spread-eagled and let the groomer shave his tummy, etc. It was the brushing he hated, go figure.

Hey, did you get lots of treats for that ordeal? That might have helped in the end. 🙂

Newton with the heat that is happening here in Florida we think that you will feel a lot cooler and overall better without that extra fur and especially the pull of those mats. We feel your pain though…we sure do.

We don’t know what to say about manscaping 🙂 although Buster just started baffing his armpits. He does not like car rides because the only time he gets to ride the car is when you know….

Don’t you just love your Sleepypod? We’re lucky that our vet now has separate examination rooms for kitties so we don’t have to worry about dog germs.

Thank you! Yes, we love the Sleepypod! The difference in how calm Newton was during his long wait in the waiting room as opposed to how he would have been in a regular carrier was really noticeable, and he was back to “normal” again at home almost immediately, which isn’t usual after a trip out.

Newton I KNOW you could have taken those dogs on and if I was there we could have done them all at once. My little brofur Einstein has those matted pawpits and Dad is thinking of having him manscaped. Thanks for the lesson that it is not that bad. I will tell the little guy but I still think a bitey is in store for the first to grab him. We shall see.
