Newton: You’ll never guess what I see outside the window!
What do you think these are?
The humans thought they were a pair of garbage bags discarded on the lawn, but if you look more closely….
Well, maybe it still looks like a pile of garbage. Maybe this photo, taken weeks ago, will help you identify the objects.
They are our neighborhood sandhill cranes. A lot of you have them who migrate in and out of your neighborhoods every year, but these are here year round.
We kitties watch them from this side of the glass and ponder whether they taste like chicken.

Are these your new neighbors? They look like they came from another planet don’t they?
What long legs they have – do they use them for running or just for being nosy over a fence?
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
Whoa! I would love to have your Bird TV!
Those are some mighty pretty birds. Bet that is great Bird TV. Great pictures.
Dang, those really are big ones! That would sure keep us busy watching Big Bird TV!
Sandhill Cranes in your very own yard! Oh my gosh, that’s amazing and they are beautiful.
Mom would love to see a Sandhill Crane in the feathers. They look very graceful and of course she loves the red head.

You have such amazing visitors to your house!!!
You have the best visitors! We’d sit and watch those all day if we could. Our mom could have sworn she heard ducks in our backyard this morning but then she discovered it was just our sister Tessa slurping water. Color us disappointed.

We can only hear ours when they fly to and fro in the winter and spring. They fly so high that my mom says sometimes they only look like little silver specks!
HAH! Look at those spindly legs. Wonder how they stand up. It would only be polite for your humans to catch one and cook it so you could find out.
Pawsome BirdTv….we hink the Sandhill cranes are pretty pawsome!
The Florida Furkids
We bet they DO taste like chicken!

We thought maybe swans in the first photo. What lovely birds, and we bet they make for excellent bird TV. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
If only Ashton could get her paws on one for her Emporium! Kidding! Great Bird TV…I wonder what would happen if Neytiri and I saw birds that big?!
they totally don’t taste like chicken, so no point in feeling deprived.. but feel free to imagine that they do.. and what a bounty that would be if one offered itself up to you
