Newton: I went to the vet this week! I have been snorting and gurgling when I purr, and I even lost my voice for a while. My voice was back by the time I went to the vet, though, and I sang the song of my people all the way there.
Dr. Avok vet says I lost a quarter of a pound. I think that is from chasing Cupcake around the house.
I like everyone at my vet’s office! Every time my vet or her technician walked out the door, I wanted to follow them.
Usually, I couldn’t quite make it out the door and had to settle for roaming around the exam room.
One time, when Dr. Avok wasn’t fast enough, I followed her right out into the treatment area. She gave me a big hug and brought me back to my humans in the exam room. She’s really nice, but she doesn’t have as much of a sense of adventure as I do.
If I couldn’t go visit the other vet techs in the treatment area, decided I might as well wait in my Sleepypod until I got my treatment plan.
Dr. Avok says I have post nasal drip, just like humans get, maybe from a mild upper respiratory infection or from allergies. I’ll be taking some medicine to clear it up. No big deal.
If I can’t follow anyone into the treatment area again, can we go out the other door? There’s a kitten at home I need to chase.
Summer says
I’m glad that nothing too bad was going on with you, Newton! I know what you mean about having a sense of adventure – I am always wanting to go where humans don’t think I should too.
Three Chatty Cats says
I hope you feel better soon, but glad it’s nothing too serious. My Dexter lost his meow one time and the vet didn’t have a reason why. It came back though!
Mary McNeil says
So glad everything is ok, Newton. (My Sally Cookie has the same problem – and she sneezes too !)
I really enjoy watching you and Cupcake have fun together ! Purrs !
Melissa & Mudpie says
If Mudpie were to lose her meow my first thought would be that she had laryngitis from chatting too much! Glad you managed to have fun at the vet ๐ Cupcake is going to keep you young and spry!

Eastside Cats says
Newton, I am curious to know what medicine you’ll be taking for your sinus issue. Glad you could sing, although your human may not have enjoyed it as much…hehehe
caren gittleman says
YAY Newton! So glad that all went well and that you are super brave at the Vet like I am! Hopefully those meds will clear ya up in no time! Love, Cody
Colehaus Cats says
We’re sorry you needed to go get that snorting checked out but happy to hear it’s nothing too serious. Lots of kitties in our area are going through this same thing because of all the smoke wafting down from British Columbia wildfires. Even our sister Sunny is snorting a bit now and then, even though all our windows are closed up tight! You look so handsome with your sleepy pod!
mommakatandherbearcat says
I bet you make all the ladies’ days, Newton. You’re quite the ladies man. Aren’t younger sisters fun? Don’t tell anyone I said that. It’s nice to finally have someone to play with when Momma’s “busy” ๐ ~Bear Cat

It’s good news that all you have is a backwards runny nose. I hope it clears up quickly. I wouldn’t want to venture around my vet’s office….there are dogs out there!
The Island Cats says
We hope the medicines help and your drip stops, Newton.
Ellen Pilch says
I had no idea cats got that too. I hope you feel better soon.
Cathy Keisha says
Whoa! Didn’t think we could get post-nasal drip. The only drip I know is TW. Sending healing purrz. Now go back and play with Cupcake.
William's Kith & Kin says
We’re glad it’s something easily remedied, Newton. My mom says you are a very well-behaved boy (and that we should take a tip from you).
Mark's Mews says
