Cousin Earl has had some big changes in his life in the past few weeks, and he has never been good with change. He is already learning to adapt to his newest challenge, being in a house without Nellie. He (and the rest of us here) wish to thank everyone for their kind purrs of support. It has been heartwarming to read everyone’s comments.

Hi there Earl, we hope you feel better soon about Nellie being gone. It is so hard when a good friend leave. Our Person had two ponies and one of them had to go to heaven, and the other grieved for three weeks. So you will be all right. Take care.

The mom had 2 kitties, Attila & Robbie, who were best of friends. When Attila wanted to play, he would go in the hallway and call for Robbie to come out and play. Robbie died young and suddenly of leukemia. One of the most heartbreaking things our mom ever heard was Attila calling for Robbie, who would never come play with him again. After a few weeks, he didn’t call anymore and adjusted.
She thinks Attila adjusted well because he had other kitty friends to keep him company. Perhaps one day, when the time is right, Earl might like a new friend. There are so many more deserving, loving kitties out there than there are homes for them. We have always thought that another kitty is a great way to honor a lost one, which is probably why we have 4 cats. It will never be the same, but it can still be good.
We are purring for all of Nellie’s family & friends, and particularly Earl.
