We had some big adventures this weekend. Cupcake’s coffee shop visit was pretty eventful.
First of all, we discovered that getting a smaller serving of whipped cream in Cupcake’s puppaccino means she ends up much messier than normal. Yes, that’s whipped cream around her eye.
With a smaller serving, she has to push her face further into the cup, and that can get messy in a hurry!
We carry cat-safe wipes in her go bag, so we were able to make sure she was cleaned up before the sticky stuff could start to dry in her fur.
The real excitement started when a brave squirrel wandered into the seating area at the coffee shop. Cupcake wanted a closer look, so we went out to the patio to see.
The squirrel tried hanging out on the far side of the planter, but Cupcake was onto that trick.
There was a moment when she lost track of the squirrel when he went vertical and leaped up into her favorite planter.
Cupcake wasn’t giving up. She leaped up onto the planter, too, and climbed the little palm tree growing there in pursuit.
She was only inches from the squirrel, but on the wrong side of the tree.
That squirrel has lived the good life there near the coffee shop for a long time, and knew how to stay safe. When she couldn’t see him, he ran back down the tree and took off. Cupcake leaped down, too, but she had lost track of her little friend.
Cupcake: Where did he go? I just wanted to be his friend!
As long as she was up on the edge of the planter, it seemed like a good time to hang out there and take a bath. Cupcake decided it was time to make sure the last traces of that whipped cream were gone from the fur around her eye and her whiskers.
